So yesterday I deceided to take my mustang, Bronson, out for a trail ride to start the New Year. He is very slow going and we havn't gone out much or very far by ourselves but we went. About a three hour ride. As we were nearing the last mile towards home we came along this backyard that was a lot of property with yearlings and older moms etc... running around. They galloped up to see us, Bronson got all excited to see them and as we turned the corner all those horses, five of them, took off running as fast as they could go away from us. Bronson got so excited he started to want to go fast as well I held him back and we couldn't walk forward he was trying so hard so he actually started to prance and he pranced down the cented of the street sideways. His head was arched his feet were high steppingand we went all the way down that street, prancing, sideways. Can't believe he had it in him! There were people at the end of the street, we were on show!!! haha we reached them and they said he was the most beautiful horse, I said he's a Mustang! haha That will never happen again, For those older folk, Bronson is named after Charles Bronson, my favorite he man actor.

Sounds like an exciting ride! Bronson must have wanted to play with that herd pretty badly to prance sideways all the way down the street Any pictures of your beautiful guy? I'm a pic addict and would love to see him.

Mustangs are my favorite, Bronson showed up where I board skinny cut up a bit and in need of a home. He belonged to a horse dealer at the time. I have done a lot of work with him. But I have always wanted to adopt a wild one at one of those wild horse auctions. There is a wild horse auction in Turlock in March which is about one mile from where I board. I cannot get one because I adopted Covey. But really we don't need another horse that needs so much work at this time. Covey will be nice because he gets to retire and won't need much in that regard. But oh..... to dream of someday actually buying a wild Mustang. I too look at all the pictures on their internet adoption sites and dream of which one I would pick. Here are some pictures of Mustangs that were not adopted last year at the Oakdale Wild Horse Auction. www.grovestreet.com/jsp/picview.jsp?album=83306 Not all the pretty ones get adopted.

oh, he is gorgeous.
Don't you love it when they get all in a pissy mood, prance, jig you around, and everybody else is going....... "Oh what a beautiful horse".
My arab does that very well too. Pistol!!!!

He's a beautiful horse.
If he's freezebranded you can get his exact age and the herd he came from.

I got Reno in August, he was always the perfect gentleman. Did our first Gymkhana in October and he was awesome!!! No antics whatsover. And this is a horse that does drill, been there, done that, performed next to roller coasters the whole shebang. Then the November Gymkhana came....BAD, bad day. And I so was not expecting him to be like that I just made it worse. Live and learn....if he ever pulls that again I'll be ready now...lol
