George- 12 y/o - 15.1+hh - Appy Gelding
Post by cybercat on Sept 15, 2006, 9:30pm
George - 12 year old, 15.1+h, appy gelding. George's feet are in bad shape and he is in need of a trim. He was responsive in the halter and easy to handle on the ground. He is a little heard bound but he listens to the ques when asked. Not 100% sound up front but with feet in such bad shape that is probably the reason. Stops easily, plow reins nicely. This horse really tries to please his rider and would make a nice addition to any home!

I'll bring him, but I may just keep on driving and forget to drop him off... Just kidding!
Yeah, if things work out right that would be great if we could drop him off and you could help with the diesel cost.
I have a nice big 3 horse slant that can be made even bigger by taking out the tack room, so I'm sure they'll fit just fine, and be happy for the company. I am probably going to offer a home for Spud, so they may all 3 have to squish in there, if we get lucky! I had my "wide load" appy and my "long load" TB and a QH in the trailer yesterday and they were comfy, so it should be fine.

If *ALL* else failed, I could take him.
I will be sending in $50 for this boy (or the pull fund) tonight.
Modified to add: Money sent.

I just read the thread about the truck leaving Monday. Oh gosh. I don't have the funds for bail, but if anyone else does I can go to the feedlot on Sunday and rescue a few just in time! Anyone? I'm going to start working harder to find people to donate.

looks like we can't make this happen in time for Sunday.. maybe they can move the $50.00 pledged for George over to Murphy so you can be that much closer. I wish I had more money, but right now its REALLY tight. The two GA's I have at home after everything was said and done I dropped about 2k in the past month on them and that tapped me out! Otherwise I would have had money left to bail another one..

I just wanted to say, if you're thinking about pledging money for Murphy or Spud, the two I have offered homes for, or for George, who I can give a ride to on my way home, do it soon! I have to decide whether or not to cancel my trip plans by around 3pm Saturday. That doesn't leave much time.
And remember, even if the truck doesn't leave until Monday, their fates will be sealed on Sunday afternoon.

George, George, George has a home, just needs help with bail! (Sung to the tune of George of the Jungle. Lame I know, but does it stick in your head and make you want to help him?)
Hey, I have a rescue horse here who has a heart of gold and a shining soul, who used to be called George by his past owner who threw him away like old gum. His name is now Coda. He is so special, and has made so many happy memories for so many kids. He has reached the end of his days and will be euthanized soon, but not for a little while because he's my daughter's horse and her birthday is Tuesday. Not a good time for her. She loves him dearly and so do I, I've been having trouble not crying when I think of how wonderful he is, and that we won't have him with us anymore. We would love to see this horse saved in his name.
I wish I could adopt him outright. Can anyone help him?

I just got Swissgrl's donation. Unfortunately for Spud, if multiple horses are listed in the donation, we are supposed to apply the entire amount to the first horse listed. So that's an extra $50 for George. It's not my favorite policy but that's the way it is.
