She can be approached and haltered at Liberty and we did some basic ground work this weekend building a circle and such. Mostly it was to get her awa from home and more confident. She started of startling every time Whikey did, or if a bird would fly out of the arena, but by the first afternoon she relaxed a lot. They told me she had a fit when they put Baby Mia away the night before so I let her out in the arena to play on sunday morning. She was really playing at first, ducking/cutting flying lead changes.. but having a good time so I left her loose while we had lunch. The video is from after lunch. Kendall is saddling her, but she was spooky when he tried to mount her. We aren't sure if she was ever ridden, but we can tell she had some work and has more then a natural fear of humans so has had some abuse. We advised him to do some ground driving and confidence building before he tries to ride her again. He took her to a clinic in Nov but was working mostly with Buck that session. She was much more relaxed this session Oh and how freakin cute is Mia??? She's a mustang that was born at Lifesavers. They swear the sire was NOT a pony but she is coming 2 and just look at her!!! (10 hands and 225 lbs) Beth who has baby envy (seems Dyan isn't baby enough for her) wants to take her home and stick her in the backyard.

Remember when Cordie was the feedlot watchdog around the mom and foal..she is a special mare. LOL I had forgoten about that for a minute but she wanted to get close to Mia all day on sat she was sneaking closer to her and then they put her away after we left and said Cordie had a HUGE fit, spinning, bucking, kicking.. Sunday when Beth got Mia out I asked if Cordie could actually meet her and Chris said sure. M Crdelia took the smallest little steps and reached out so softly to sniff and greet little Mia it was so cute! She would shuffle just a bit closer now and then, she never turned away until I asked her to.

tockita- I forget...didn't you decide that Cordie is actually an Appy? Where should we put her thread?

Good Question! Cordelia (Kendall was calling her Cora as in Crazy Cora from Quigley Down under. Love the movie, Love the character!)
Cordie is flea bitten on her front half and a few spotted Appy on the rear, She has all the needed Appy Criteria so yes she is an Appy or an Appy cross.
She is living at Angi's right now, arrived last weekend. She is very content to be around mares and little ones again. At Kendalls she just had Buck in the stal next to her. Now she is in communal living which suits her well. She has been really mellow since she arrived. (I figure being in the pen with the others makes her feel less singled out and therefore is more relaxed then if you were to go into a stall with just her in it.) She was hanging over the fence saying hello to 8 y/o Sebastian and getting petted her first afternoon (and her new best friend is that cute Icelandic)
Angi is going to make she she feel secure and confident in herself and then start saddle training. Kendall did really well getting her further along as far as her mouth and feet are concerned. But got stuck at saddle work. . . but then thats what keep Angi round for... to help us when we reach the end of our abilities.
Hmm well that and she makes me laugh a LOT! and that's a good thing too!
