Balance $0!! 20 year old, 15h, appy gelding. He is thin but has teeth, just needs groceries. He is on the shy side, but is easy to ride and handle on the ground. He neck reins and responds well to leg pressure. He has a pretty gait and forward stride. A nice horse that needs some love and care to make him truly shine! I love him, he is a good looking boy. I'm sure with some TCL he'll be a real looker.

Good grief, thank you for adding his contact information Cybercat! There still isn't a price listed for him. I really think he may be younger than 20, it's just that he is so thin, and people always think gray horses are older than they are. Guess it's because we feel old as soon a few strands start creeping in on our own heads...

I don't think the time they have been listed matters any to the FLO. He just fills the truck with any horse not paid for and off the lot. The volunteers try to keep certain horses back, but it doesn't always work. This boy really has a lot to give to a lighter rider who is looking for a well broke trail or pleasure mount. Rips me up that I don't have room for him here, Appys are the hardest for me to see go. We lost so many to the last truck, I just don't want him to go as well.

I just got a message from Heidi, and they do not have a price yet, but will contact me with it as soon as she hears. She also stated he needs feet trimmed badly, and likely needs a dental (probably just a good float), but does have his teeth, and will need proper diet and careful exercise to bring him back into riding condition. She also feels he may only be a teenager, but they posted his age on the conservative side, given his condition. She also said he likes attention and is good on the ground.

$275 and a home are all that's needed to get Stratosphere off the lot and safe. I see a great prospect here for someone. And - no guarantees at all here - but they were trying to be conservative on his age as he does need a good float - but he might even be a little bit younger.

How about a ride off the lot?
Money for bail?
Home offer?

Even if he isn't any younger, but I suspect he is, Appys live a long time. This boy has another 10-13 years of love and good times to give. Perfect for a 4-H prospect or a trail horse. If he moves as nice as they say, I'll bet he is a nice smooth ride, my Appy girl sure is.

The CBER Store website has changed. You can no longer tell them which horse you would like to donate to. . .it just goes into a General Fund. How do you tag it for Stratosphere?
Oh. I just read the above donated amounts. . .and it looks like you are only taking pledges at this time. So, I pledge $50.00.

Yeh- Don't we all wish we get "get em all". Days like this are hard to take. I've seen it so many times- some of these horses will likely be on the "gone" page by tommorrow. It's just a matter of hours. But we do what we can and say our prayers.
