Age unknown, 16h, Belgian draft mare. This mare looks quite heavy in foal. She is not halter broke, she allowed us to get close but not actually touch her. I am sure off of the lot and she would be easier to gain her trust but today she just did not want too much to do with us. Please contact Tash Johnson for more information.EMAIL: sand_tiger@hotmail.comADOPTION FEE: $750.00 QT FEE: $300.00 HAULING FEE: $ 30.00 PAYPAL FEE: $ 32.40 ____________________ TOTAL FUNDS NEEDED: $ 1112.40 HOME OFFERS:Un official- Gabi of Lazy Horse Rescue PLEDGES/DONATIONS:

Curious...what other charges are totaled in her bail as the fees above do not add up to $1627.40?? I get $1127.40.
Thanks Chris

Keepin' me honest, Chris? Hehehe...I guess I shouldn't try to add this without a calculator and cats meowing for food...I DID think that amount was awfully high, but forgot to re-check it.
Thanks, Leanne

I only calculated it to be 1112.40 for Celeste this morning. Why are the paypal fees for her 4.4%? I thought it was only 3% for paypal fees.

Oh heck...I give up today...you should be closer to right than I am, Christine...I calculated the Paypal fee based on the original incorrect amount. I am finding this all a little hard to concentrate on when I'm home for about an hour at a time and then running off to do something else. I am sorry...I'm leaving the Paypal amounts blank until I can get the correct amounts from Marlene. I noticed on the last truck that her Paypal amounts were slightly different than ours, even at the 3% rate...I hope this doesn't cause problems with your ads...

Haven't heard from Marlene, so I'm adding straight 3% for the Paypal fees...if they need to be adjusted, we'll clean up later...

Well the only reason I noticed was the total was high! I think it's absolutely great that you take the time to keep this all so up to date and organized. Thank you Leanne!!

Please don't forget about Celeste...she is probably pregnant as well...
I have not heard back from Tash, but here is a strategy... Gabi of Lazy Horse Rescue had offered to be a backup home for the drafts but did not want to take any unhandled horses...Gabi and I had a little conversation. IF we get enough $ together to bail her so she can foal out safely, and IF Tash agrees that Gabi is backup, then we COULD hire a trainer to work with CELESTE and the OTHERS DURING QT, to see how trained they really are and perhaps FIND PERMANENT HOMES during the QT process. This will take a commitment among all of us to help Gabi on an ongoing $$$ basis to care for these big beauties until they find homes. Any feedback on this idea during the last 3 hours before the DEADLINE? Gabi will not back down on giving these horses a home where they can safely have their babies...and I have made a commitment to help her, even though this is against my promise to my husband.

Can we use money from the angel fund to help with the up keep and training of these mares??? That would help a LOT if we could!

No, it is intended to be used for bail only on shipping day, check the Mission Statement ... a true safety-net for the highest risk horses.
If we used it for care and training, then it makes the funds inaccessible to a horse at risk of shipping.
It's not like there are lots of funds.
Right now, there's barely enough to bail just one horse. That's it.

Can we use money from the angel fund to help with the up keep and training of these mares??? That would help a LOT if we could! The thing about the Angel Fund is it is set up for temporary loans only. Even if we did use the funds for this purpose, someone would have to be responsible for making sure the funds were paid back in a timely manner in order to help the next horse. This situation calls for a sponsorship rather than an emergency short term loan.

Why is no one posting on this thread since Saturday? Are we waiting for the last minute again? Does anyone have some leads to help this mare???
I will do ads for her tonight but can anyone else spread the word here?

Well that is better than shipping that's for sure. Let's pray she gets a decent home to have her foal.
