Opal (Adopted) Age: 6-9 Height: 14h Sex: Mare Breed: - x - Adoption Fee: $575 Contact Placement Specialist ~ Sam: cberpres@nwinfo.net6 - 9 yr old, 14h, Welsh cross dapple grey mare. Pony lovers here is a fancy mare that could make a great pony hunter. She is cute, fancy and nice mover. She is by no means a 10 but she does not paddle at all. She does not appear to know much was was a little owly about picking up her hind feet. Possibly pregnant. Sound at time of assessment.

Hi All,
Opal is super fancy, young and sound! She would make a great success story as she belongs in the show ring winning ribbons. She should be a slaughter-bound horse mascot but she has to be rescued in order to do that. I am tapped out from the sale and as you all know CBER can not sponsor horses anymore. Let's get the ball rolling and save this group.
Thanks,
Sam

Sam, I just got home. There was a response to my ad for Opal at equine.com from a mom asking about a horse for her daughter. I will forward it to you now. Please check for it. If you don't see it soon, let me know.
Aleta
Sorry, I can't email it....sent you a personal message.

she is such a sweet flashy looking thing, perfect for the showring. Can anybody offer her a home, if we can get bail?

I am surprised there is no interest in her. She is just the right size for all those people who want pony club mounts. I do have a question about her discription though. What does "owly" mean. And what does "she does not paddle at all" refer to. Her gait?

Don't know about "owly", but paddling refers to when a horse travels with hind legs swinging out and then circling in with every stride (like how a canoe paddle is used). Typically indicates some level of lameness or soreness, so in this instance, it's a backwards way of saying she's sound.

Could that be a misprint for an owie like recent sore place? I am surprised this gal has not been taken. She has real stand out color appeal and a pretty good confirmation...nice short back for carrying weight. Great size for pony club and well trained is seems. Young too.

And if she is pregnant............how can we let that horse ship?
Maybe someone could give her shelter thru the winter and thru pregnancy if that is true and we can list her as available till someone does see her photos. There are a few ads for her. Once she is safe, I can place alot more ads for her. There was such limited time over the weekend with so little time for these horses.

And maybe with all the new ads, there could be some forever home in place by the end of QT. I got an immediate response to the ad I placed on equine.com for her but it didn't work out....but then again that mom may take a different horse sometime.
Can't we use a little creative thinking here to get her safe?

This girl looks very much like my Echo did - buckingstock mare (pregnant) rescued Jan 06. Please don't let her ship. I am sure she will flourish with some love and care. I wish I had the space for her.

Pending now, per CBER website.
Don't know if it's an outright adoption or not.

what is the status on Opal? Where is she located? Does anyone know why the adoption fell through? ( I just saw the date of her arrival was in October and now in January she is back up for adoption) Is she pregnant?

Opal is located at Camelot Farms. Not too sure why the adoption fell through. If need be, email Sam and she can provide you with more info on her and her condition etc.

I am interested in Opal but having a hard time finding information on her. I would like to try her for driving and have been approved by CBER for adoption. I live in Issaquah and trying to figure out how much it would cost to transport her to me. I would adopt her sight unseen if I could get a good assesment of her personality and temperment. Does anyone have a video of her? Thank you Amy

Email Sam at cberpres@nwinfo.net
I think Opal is in qt with her. She should be able to get you the info you need, except I don't think she has a video camera. Maybe she knows someone that can come out. Have you filled out an application yet?
