Update from toeps
No change today. Bag is the same size. The vet should be out later today to check her and and advice on her cough - which seems to have gotten a little better. She also has thin clear snot so I'm hoping it's just from stress and not the feedlot crud.
She is a very beautful mare! The pix of her and Tango is not a very good one. It makes her head look huge because she's looking right at me. She not very big bodied with a very nice head. She has dainty feet (that need trimmed) and nice legs.
Even my horse illiterate hubby is impressed
Even if she ends up not being preggers, we are very happy to have her here.
More updates later -

Help! Sunny has a NASTY! bright yellow snot nose. Still coughing. She is eating and drinking fine. I called the vet (after hitting the house at a dead run this morning when I saw her!) and because we can't get a temp on her, he wants me to moniter her for a couple day and see if it gets better being the snot just showed up today. After Dynasty and the other horses diagnosed with pneumonia, this kinda worries me. He doesn't want to put her on meds without checking her temp first. So we decided that I'll do a call back on Monday unless she gets noticable worse.
Is there anything (she's on probiotics) I can give her that will help? Kinda freakin' out!

Ask Shellyr, she gives a vitamin C supplement that really seems to give their immune systems a surge. I know Sunline got snotty for a day and it was gone and she never got strangles or pneumonia, but Shelly had her on the vitamin C the whole time.

Sunny is on smz and doing better. She is definetly pregnant! I saw her baby kicking last night. She has been showing very subtle signs of pre labor so now we wait Yesterday I caught her rubbing her butt a couple times and occasionally kicked her belly. Her bag seems to have gotten a little bigger and yesterday the whole shape of her belly changed (she still doesn't look preggers) and her rump looks softer. No wax or milk drips.
She ate grain out of my hand!!! Then followed me around looking for more. This is a huge step for her. Before, she wouldn't even turn her head toward my hand much less sniff it. She's figuring out I'm gonna feed her and no one is going to hurt her and she is slowly coming around. She also doesn't mind me right next to her - I just am not allowed to touch her - yet. I believe she has been handled some or is very used to people. We were cleaning her stall and pounding some nails and she was 5 feet away and didn't even blink. She just looked back like, Oh thats what that racket is. Very cool!

I bet she improves a lot. It just may have been some time since she was handled, or she was roughly handled and regressed. It sounds like she's figuring out you are safe.

We just love this mare! She is feeling much better. Still a slight runny nose but she didn't cough once while I was down doing evening chores Little stinker! I tried everything I could think of to get her to take her meds. I ground them up in the coffee grinder, mixed them with molasses, with corn oil, with apple sauce. I stuffed them whole in pieces of apple (mind you there are 15 pills!) She doesn't like sweet. She won't eat Allegra senior, she likes her dry cob. So today, I mixed her med powder with water and poured it over her grain. She inhaled it! Now that I've figured it out tho, it's a breeze to get them in her Guess I should have gone for the simple first instead of trying to figure out what else she would like.
I am doubting myself again, wondering if what I saw really was a baby kicking I swear it was. Still no changes tho. She still doesn't look preggers, bag seems about the same, I don't think it has gotten smaller. Hmmmm. So we wait. Maybe she just has a little ways to go. . . . . . or I'll get up tomorrow and she'll have a lil one This is gonna drive me nuts! LOL! I wish I knew for sure, than maybe waiting wouldn't be too bad.
My old grumpy TB is SO jealous! He hates the mares! (Tango and Sunny) He was pissed when I was giving them their meds with grain so he walked around the side of the stall, bit Sunny in the butt and walked out of the barn. This is the horse I thought would accept the newbies and be a grampa! NOT! My mustang likes the ladies tho

Thanks for asking Sunny is doing great! Thought for sure we were gonna have a baby last weekend! Her bag got huge (we were guessing a B+ cup ) and her belly shape changed - again. I also saw bumps in her rump from baby. Nope. . . .
She seems a little "off" today. Usually she dives right in her hay and she just stood there and stared at me. Her bag is still pretty big - not as big as last weekend. And I swear she looks a little preggers now. I'll see if I can get some pix while it's still light out tonight to compare. Her tail is a FRO! I haven't caught her rubbing her butt alot but she definetly is by the looks of it. She also has little spots of hair missing right in front of her flanks like she been biting or scratching there. I'm keeping a close eye on her tonight to eatch for anything else.
Update soon! Hopefully with a baby!

OHHH! This mare is petrified of me! LOL! I was down cleaning her stall last night and literally had the pitch fork under her and around her feet because she was taking a nap and didn't feel it neccesary to move out of my way. I even bumped her hoof to see what she would do. Didn't even blink. When I had to move her (I just hold my hand up and she moves away from it - she still doesn't want to be touched) she moved back a few steps and layed down for a nap. With me right next to her. She is very layed back. Once she learns we won't hurt her I think she'll be a love bug. She likes to be in my space and wants me in hers as long as I don't touch her. She will actually move right next to me if I am more than a few feet away but when I hold out my hand too close to her body she will flinch and move over. As soon as I put it down, she'll move back into me.
I have learned something in the few weeks I've had her. She always bags up on Sunday. HA! So every Sunday I've been down there making sure her stall is spotless, just knowing there will be a baby! Nope. LOL!
Oh yeah, gave her a lice dust bath. HO HUM! She cared. . . . . not even a little. Yep, she's one spooky, jumpy, handful of a mare!

She's not a blm but I wonder if Shine may be her momma. She look very much alike and came in together and Shine is blm.
I did find another brand on her tho. Other than the N she has on her shoulder. It looks like a backwards 7 with a line thru the post and the post is not slanted but straight down.
Thanks emjay - I'm thinking a great little horse for my kids. My daughter thinks if the baby is a girl and the same color (in her words- her name should be 'Honeypot' or 'Dandelion' I asked her what if she has a big black and white boy? HAHA MOM! You're funny! So my kids have decided she is having a little palomino filly

I'll tell you a funny one, stand with your back to her and see what happens. There is a wild little PMU rescue at my barn and he won't come up to you if you face him but if I turn my back to him, he comes up and I can pet his nose and he even licks me! He's like a feral cat, scared of eye contact. Yours might be the same, might let you pet her if you don't look at her while you're doing it. She just sounds a little wary.
