Flame - 2-4 y/o- 14.3h - QH type Gelding
Post by cybercat on Oct 13, 2006, 3:16pm
THIS IS FLAME'S THREAD FROM THE SUPPORT BOARD
Flame - 2 - 4 years old, 14.3h and growing QH type gelding. Nervous but willing disposition once he realized we weren't going to hurt him. Naturally correct in front with an athletic build. Sound with great feet however he was too nervous for us to pick them up. Flame needs reassurance - would need a confidence building type of training/ owner. His eye is not trusting.
Adopter: Jamie T.
Bail Amount: $625.00
Bail Pledged: $50.00 CarrieS
Full bail paid by adopter...

Anything yet? I really like this guy, he is so pretty. And the ones who don't trust usually turn around and are life long companions.
Actually, this guy is really nice. My neighbors filly was a mean and scared filly. She didn't trust anyone, but I really liked her and have spent a lot of time with her since then. Now she is the sweetest little horse ever. This guy will be the exact same. I would love to work with him like I did the filly, they look so much a like!

I have an e-mail into heidi as well about him>I don't think its a trust issue,he hasn't been worked with much, therefore you can't or shouldn't label him that way-This is where some of the adoptions go awry, its in description of the horse-no doubt that he is outstanding to look at,seems bright eyed, and scared I am sure.I am surprised that no one wants him,and that
is very interesting from where I sit?

Anything happening for him? I'm so worried he's going to go like Tweedle and Dee. The FLO likes to send the healthy, wild ones.
I'll start with $50 pledged for him; he's too pretty to be a steak.

I hate it when they say things like, "His eye was not trusting." Or if they say the horse did something naughty when they were trying them out. It just condemns the horse! Bring out the positives, I say, and if there are cautions, bring them out after someone inquires about the horse. So many of them have a misbehavior, and it makes ppl shy away from them. I think poor Vegas is in that group, and Sonora. Those two mares are highly desireable types and colors, not aged, aer broke to ride, etc. and yet, they sit there. Neither one has a very flattering write-up. They are higher priced, but with them being broke and in such good condition, it's still a fair price. It makes them sound cranky and hard to deal with, and yet, you know they aren't that way.

YAY! I hope his adopter posts tons pics of his progress!
I love it when my favorites get adopted; my 2 sweeties (4 hoofed and 2 footed) have made it pretty clear that there can only be 1.

Hi Gals!
I adopted Flame while I was in Maui! He is a real cutie. Since I bought him while I was in Hawaii, I think I will call him Mai Tai, or Tai for short.
He is having a small bout of strangles, but nothing too severe.
He is a typical baby, unsure of the world and people, but very willing. His conformation seems good, legs are straight, alittle short in the neck and thick through the throat latch, but what I like most of all is his great mind.
He did not know me at all and he let me handle him, halter him, move him around the stall, pick up his feet and back him up. He stood quietly at the end of the rope while I had a conversation with Diane and then snuggled his head in my arms for lovn's. I think that's pretty trusting of him.
PEC is doing a good job with his care. Thank you Dean.
More to come.. !

He was wormed today and not real thrilled about it but forgave me quickly. hehe
He snuck out of his stall and was visiting Vegas. She didn't think he was all that and just kept squealing at him over her stall door. The quarantine area is blocked off so they can't get anywhere but the isle. I told him to get his hinny back in his own stall and he walked right in!
What a looker! He is Quarter/Arab
