Pasedena- Older 25+ 15.1 h broodmare. This is smudge's mom. She has a quiet temperament and is generally easy-going on the ground. She was a little agitated when we separated her from Smudge to do this assessment, but it is understandable. She is Sound at time of assessment. Pasedena is missing a few teeth and would benefit from equine senior type of feed and not having any babies nursing on her.

I hope you can get Smudge and were you going to try for the mom too? the fastest way to get them off the lot is get your application in ASAP and pay for them as soon as you can. Don't wait for donations or group adoptions...we're seeing so much of that lately and I think that its keeping horses on the lot much longer.

I have already been approved to adopt and have already adopted 5 horses from CBER.Winston, Chipwich,Tink, Oreo and Pixie. Smudge would make a wonderful companion to Tink who is 7 months old now.
I just have not heard back from anyone yet. I live in Western Washington so with the flooding and roads closed I need to here back as soon as possible so I can see about getting them hauled.
It is so hard when you are just waiting to here and know about the sickness on the lot and know there is a baby and a mother that needs alot of care and food.

I have not participated in pledging/sending money in a while because I am still very upset with the way things went with Midnight. I had sent in $250 because she was to go to Squirrelsrule... then I found out the FLO sold her outright and I didn't have any say as to where the money was going to be moved. That being said (I just had to vent) I have learned that I need to pledge and then not send in the money unti the appropriate time. I am willing to pledge $100 for Pasadena... she just MUST stay with her baby. Otherwise I don't think she will make it.
Cybercat (or whomever) please tell me when to send the money through the CBER store.

scr- does this make sense? I was going to ask mustang1 to move her pledge to another horse since she can send it until this afternoon anyway...If everyone else pays, Pasadena should have $245.00...($20.00 overage)$6.75 of that overage would pay for credit card fees (3%)= leaving $13.25 to go elsewhere...so do you want to split your pledge before sending it in?

Hi malina, I will going tomorrow and as far as I know I am bringing Pasadena home with her baby. I have her stall fixed and the special grain bought so all she has to do is stand there and eat or lay what ever she chooses to do. I am just so worried about the trip home with her, and hoping she doesn't get sick.
I will update everyone when I return from my trip tomorrow. It is approximatly 350 miles if I get to take white pass.

I just want to keep all the wonderful people that helped save Pasadena updated. I have her and Smudge stalled next to each other with a gate in between so they can see, touch and smell each other.
Pasadena has not moved from in front of her feeder since she arrived. She stands there eating and passing gas! My daughter saw her yesterday and said that she looked like she has already gained weight. She loves to be brushed and talked to and she will call to you if she isn't the first to be fed.
How great are the people that had faith in her making the long trip! When I pulled up to the lot I really thought she would not make it she was so skinny, but then I walked up and saw her eyes that told a different story. This is a very strong and determined girl.
I just don't understand why someone would take such wonderful care of her boy Smudge to have him altered, feet trimmed, and you can do anything you want with him so they worked alot with him, but did not feed his mother.

Yep, I'll direct it toward Covey. Sending 13.00 for Pasadena, that should be the appropriate split plus the fees.
