Handsome 11 - 13 year old, 15.3h, bay TB/QH type gelding. This gelding is nice on the ground and responsive in the halter. He was easy to back and respected my space. He was nice to handle, picked up his feet automatically and has shoes on all four hooves. Sound at time of assessment. Any chance of a riding assessment? Zephyr, Kingston and Ancestral all seem like they should be broke to ride. Would be nice to know.

My pledge of 100. to Quicksilver now goes to Zephyr. So he will be in a comparable price range. I hope this helps this sweet boy.

I love the ones in the plain brown wrappers! You had me at "picked up his feet automatically"!
Can someone hop on his back so I can tell my husband he can be ridden? I hate lying to him, but...
Can you get a saddle that fits those HIGH withers?

I inquired about the possibility of someone hopping on this guy yesterday - if it's at all possible to get someone down there to do so they will....
Of course there are no guarantees but this guys seems like he'd be very easy to work with or refresh if needed.

Anyone that is considering any of these available lot horses should get their applications in now if they're not already approved, and contact the Placement Specialist to advise their interest and their approval status.
No word yet on the next truck, or how much notice we'll be given, but more than likely it will be soon.

He has FOUR SHOES guys & gals! People that hate/neglect/don't care about their horses do NOT pay for 4 shoes!!
This boy was loved, probably has at LEAST some riding experience-- why else would he have 4 shoes?

I spoke with Sam earlier...conditions at the lot w/ the rain/mud/etc have everything really slick so for their own safety & the safety of the horses, until things dry out, they may not be able to get on every horse. They don't have a secure area to ride them in right now without all the other horses around, so...when they're able, they'll hop on the ones that seem to be broke. Zephyr and Kingston are two that they're hoping to ride when conditions allow.
However - if you know of someone up there that can check them out for you, would like to hire a trainer to get on any of them, or are close enough to the lot to try them yourself you're more than welcome. Please contact the Placement Specialist to make arrangements. Please don't just show up at the lot, as there may not be anyone available to help you.

I don't know anyone up there but the cber gals! Hopefully the crappy weather is keeping the truck away.
I also sent Kingston's pictures and info to a local farrier/trainer, who is looking for an arab for a lesson horse.

This could actually be a good side business for someone with experience. Risky, plus big liability if they are off on an assessment. Is it worth the $50 or whatever? Legally safer if someone does it for free and says "yeah, but we could be wrong." You just have to decide if you trust that person's instincts. Cindy and Sam usually seem pretty right on. Also, volunteer doesn't have to get on if it doesn't feel right.

His conformation is similar to my Eddie, and I tell you, I've never had so many compliments on a horse. The Appendix package (TB/QH) is excellent. Unfortunately my VOR is also complaining mightily against any horses (and I haven't adopted any in a year!).

You guys are Rookies!!! You just HIDE the horse!! I can only have 7 at my house, but I have another one at Hystyle's, and might have yet another going either there, or to a trainer in a nearby town. As long as they don't come to my house, hubby doesn't really care - okay that's not exactly true, he doesn't know that there is anything to care about! He didn't know about Pierce, Soot, or Doodle (I still have Doodle at Hystyle's).
It isn't exactly lying - he just never thought to *ask* if I was hiding any horses, and me being the intellitent female that I am, have never volunteered the information. And I know that I am not the only one on this board that has horses hidden..........................right Lisa?
Ya'll ought to try it, it's kinda fun!
