Is the adopter paying for any portion of their bail where the funds donated can be put toward saving some of the other horses?

Is the adopter paying for any portion of their bail where the funds donated can be put toward saving some of the other horses? The adopter that Corky's talking about hasn't been approved yet, so no guarantees. Sorry. I'll check with Heidi for status and let ya know.

Lauras, Lavender and Meadow need home offers very badly, without those any bail we raise will not matter much. Summit and Aegean have home offers but not enough bail, last I checked. Check their threads for their bail needs... It sounds like Horus is safe because his bail has been paid in full, but only a CBEr staff member could say for 100% sure. Mystical and Spirit are kind of up in the air because they might have home offers but might not (depending on how the references for adoption pan out) and their bail is being pledged for on two different websites- I imagine only the CBER girls know exactly how much bail is left for them.

Heidi said they are off the lot and in QT but no application has been excepted on them because they haven't been a good match with what the adopters have been looking for. They are safe and everyone who helped make this happen can give themselves a pat on the back. You guys all rock!!

update; these two came to live at my house. the foal is a yearling STUD, do to lose all that, July 2. the first day here he was after my 3 yr old appy filly. and cut his leg up on the round pen she was in. also was nursing still. not now he is weaned. the mare is very nicely built, and good to be around. we are learning to pick up feet, hopefully the farrier will be able to take care of them July 6. otherwise they are doing great.

they both had their feet done today, Spirit did pretty good, just needed to understand what was being done. Mystical (Lady) acted up at first, but settled down and stood there.

Wow, Carolyn! Lady looks like she already knows what this is all about! I'll bet penny is right and you've got a well broke horse there! That would be terrific!
Thanks for keeping us posted and sending the pics! Love to see pics of Spirit too when you have time.

I had to make the hardest decision on Friday, Lady (Mystical) had to be put down. on Tuesday we had another good day of saddle training, I was putting weight in the saddle, just stepped off and she went up and over, (with the saddle on) got up walked around for a few minutes then went to lay down, I got the saddle off she then laid down and wouldn't get up, called the vet her gave me banamine for her, on wednesday went to give her tha banamine and she jumped over my round pen panels, landing on her right side. not good. I got her into a corral and finally able to check her found she was having back problems, she tried to throw my husband into the wall of the corral, got the vet out here, he went to check her she tried to throw him and me around, then turned to kick him. he said to see how things go, but she is dangerous to work with now. when trying to catch her in the corral she was trying to go over the door in there and the panels. It was a very SAD time, I really liked this girl.

Carolyn, I am sorry. It is never easy to have to put a horse down. You did what was best for her and for you and your family.

Oh, I am so sorry about Mystical. Such a sad story. We really never know the background on these horses.
