Treasures feet look wonderful:) My farrier says she has the best feet at my place now. trimming every 3 weeks since she came in July did the trick. She has good angles and her flare is gone ;D WOOOOHOOO So I have been on her and she was great she doesn't know much but no buck/rear and she rode like a champ with my BFA on her little butt. So I will be working with her to get her ready for a new kid or small adult home. She is such a cutie and loves attention (scratches exspecially). She has been working to learn some patiance when tied just wants to be with the others that are riding. She paws after a while(dented my trailer fender darn it). I took her into the arena and let her go when I was riding my TB and she matched our gates/turns and such. Oh I really need to get a Digital Camera.... My farrier thinks the befores and afters would make a great advertisement for him. It is true he has done wonders with feet that I was not so sure were correctable exspecially when I saw the sole so far down. She has no lameness or any issues with her feet for that I am thankful. I will post pictures as soon as I can barrow a camera.

Did your farrier ever say what cause such eratic growth of her feet. It is almost like she had some fever ring that grew out. There was a definate change in her feet due to something. Diet or sickness maybe.

The vet said stress. The farrier thought that the poor care had alot to do with it. Her rear feet actually folded under on the inside and out on the out side It's hard to make it make sense in writing. But when you picked up her feet in the rear the side that was not flared out was folded under her foot. I am sure this had to cause severe pain when it first started happening and probably alot of abscesses & pressure sores. I can imagine that this stress effected all of her feet.

Thanks guys she has been a very good girl she has got her teeth done her feet are in good working order and very tiny When she walks she doesn't have the duck waddle any more and is not sore on the back like she was before due to the inside edge curling under. All I have to say is that my farrier earned his 25.00 every 3 weeks he did a great job and we hope to continue the progress.

TREASURE HAS FOUND HER NEW HOME. She has been adopted by a young pony clubber from Woodenville. I will keep you updated with photos as she sends them. The great thing is that this girl is working with Barb Massey and Linda Ann Starr both good trainers in dressage and Hunter Jumper. So look for Treasure in the future to be working in the pony club shows. She did have quite a fit in the trailer on the way to their house taking her shipping boots of and her head bumper. She evidently reared and cut her forehead as she lifted the trailer roof. I don't know what got into her. I think I might be because she was leaving all of her buddies behind. She always did good when I trailered but there was always a horse with her. Their trailer was a straight load as well and I have a 3 horse (BIG) Thorobuilt slant. She loaded well and they said she unloaded pretty good as well but the ride was quite adventurous. Besides the cut she faired well with no lameness.

Here's an update from Treasures new pony club home. "Hello Penny. Treasure is doing great! Nikki rides her about 2 or 3 times a week. A nice mile or two hack to the dressage barn, and then dressage basics. I bought her a good book about starting horses, and she how has lesson plans for her. She also has taken (quite passionately!) to carrots! She took a bunch of pictures of her over break. They have been uploaded to her sister’s computer, but not yet sent to me for mailing. My computer lost the uploading capability in one of it’s recent crashes. She loves to hang out inside the barn. Juno stands outside facing her head-to-head. Nikki started her next treatment on the ‘sand clear’ without being asked, so she is remembering to add it to her supplements-which grow in number and quantity as her TBs needs change. She now gets Biotin, beep pulp, corn oil, bran – anything recommended for the growing TB is added to Treasure’s buckets as well. Her Hunter/Jumper trainer is trying to ‘put a bloom’ on them – not so much weight gain, as a robustness, I am told. Hope all is well your way-Lynn"
Hopefully pictures will be coming soon.
