Rosy (Available) Age: 20+ Height: 14 hands Sex: Mare Breed: American Quarter Horse Cross Adoption Fee: 350.00 Contact Placement Specialist - Shawna: tufnspendy@aol.comRosy is approx 20 years old. She was owned by a neighbor of the FLO brother, they have seen & watched kids ride this mare for years. FLO said this mare was beautiful, owners kids got older & they just quit taking care of her, she has been loosing weight like crazy. They bought the mare from the neighbor with the hope that she will be adopted, if not he will ship her. She has a hock that is pretty good size, but moves around pretty good. This poor little mare was really depressed at the lot & needs someone to love her, she would make a child a GREAT horse to learn from..she doesn't deserve the cards she has been dealt.

Shawna - Maybe I can *lean* on you again for Rosy? If you can QT her (I know that is A LOT to ask ...), I will try to scrounge up her bail. Maybe some of the folks here would like to go in on bail? If we split it 4 ways, it's only(?) about $90 each, including PP fee. Again, It makes me crazy to think a kind creature like this who has been "a good horse" will end up being squished into a transit trailer and shot in the head for someone to eat. Geez.

If she has a home offer, we all can help. This one definitely needs a forever retirement home. I think she would give back far more than any dollars spent.

Great you guys!! Now we have to find her a home - a home - a home!!!!
Shawna - ol' budy, ol' pal - any chance we can go ahead and bail this sweet, sweet old mare and QT her with you?? Again - I know its A LOT to ask ...
How does one go about finding good homes for horses on this board? Is there some central place where people can see threads?

I'm not sure when Rosy's time is up. Is it tomorrow, 11/12? Since it doesn't seem we can match her to a home (I just know she is perfect for someone, but just don't know how to connect with that family ...)., would anyone be willing to help me bail her and have her humanely euthanized rather than letting her ship to slaughter? Since she wouldn't need QT but for a day or two, I am thinking the total cost would be bail + vet visit/euthanasia/disposal + possibly a day or two in QT for a last couple days of love and good food and a soft place to be put down. I can come up with her $350 bail right now. I have no idea what the euthanasia, etc. would total. Do you guys? I may be away from the computer for awhile until later this afternoon, but I'll check in then for any info on how much longer she has to find a home and who might be willing to help with the post-bail costs for her. Her life should end quietly and with someone who cares there with her. Thanks, everyone!!

She is not at risk to ship tomorrow...give her a few more days first before considering Euth. her.
