Oh I hope the FLO will give us a week to try to save these horses. She looks like she'd be good for any level rider.

Anyone need a well trained, unflappable horse?
Can anyone offer a home to this lady, at least temporarily? I'd like to try to save this one if its not too late already...she would be easier to re-home than some of the others when we have more time to find the right fit....

Sent a few emails out to folks I know looking for a great family horse. These are the type that are hard to fine. Hope someone steps up for her SOON- it kills me to not have room to sneak one more into my herd.

Wasting an animal like this one (and any horse, for that matter) is just wrong on SO MANY LEVELS!

My daughter believes that of all the doomed horses, these are the ones who deserve to be saved. When I rehome Jade and Hue, I will get myself a horse just like this mare.

Anyone going to save this little mare. She looks like anyone can ride her. I have to many or i would be getting her. She looks like she would make a nice first horse, or a horse you could put anyone on. DONT LET HER SHIP?

Hi there, I am new to this board. I was on the very old board a couple of years ago. I adopted a gelding named Roscoe. I still have him. Ayway, I cannot get this mare out of my head. I am working on my husband on her behalf. It would be easier if I had not just bought another horse. I am trying to convince him we need her too. He needs someone to ride. Right? If I can come up with the adoption fee We would probably need help with quarantine. I literaly just bought my other mare 2 weeks ago. Anyway I can't promise anything but I am trying on her behalf. Having two really broke mares in the family would be good as Chamiyo (Roscoe) is still green and needs a couple of mares to kick his butt. I have contacted her contact person and am waiting to see if I need to be reapproved. Like I said I can't promoise anything so if someone else can take her please do!

Best luck, Chamiyo! This one is hurting me. It's a sin a horse like this ends up on a feedlot.

Camiyo, Saying a prayer for you and Hart. Hope it works out. I would save her if I had an open stall.

Yay!! Hart was my favorite. I'm glad Chuck is willing to sell to the public. He could take the easy route and just load them all up. From what I hear, a lot of KBs don't deal with the public at all. They just buy at auction and haul them away CBER is doing a great job of accessing and featuring these horses. Thanks for giving them one more chance at life!

Hi there, I am a little bummed as I really liked this mare. I guess I should have just called Chuck up myself and tried to buy here straight out. I thought he would not sell if they are listed on CBER. That seems sort of strange... and unfair. Especially since CbEr says we can not just call him up ourselves. I have a friend who knows Chuck maybe I should have had them try to call him instead? Anyway I am glad she is safe but I can't say I am happy about the way it worked. Best wishes to the rest of the horses on the lot listed and unlisted both.

If you are interested in a horse, next time contact the horses placement specialist. Usually people dont buy from him directly, every now and then it will happen with the horses listed but not often I dont think at least. So just contact the horses placement specialist and send in an adoption application asap.

Actually I did that the first day I saw her. I was previously approved 2 years ago when I adopted a horse. I also sent in all current info and pic's in case I needed to be reapproved. So I covered all of those the first day she was posted. Don't know what more I could do except call myself. I contacted her person before I ever posted on this board.

chamiyo - I'm really sorry this happened to you, and not sure what you could have done differently to ensure a better outcome. Sounds like you did everything "right". When it comes to horse-traders and Kill Buyers, it's probably best to assume "money talks" - regardless of any "agreement" a KB might have with a rescue. I suspect someone walked up and put money on the barrelhead and left with Hart. There are no "best practices" in the horsemeat business. Don't think the KB is trying to win Nordstrom's "Exceptional Customer Service Award" !

I am very sorry to hear that... I think we need to work on the PS people getting back sooner maybe, I know they cant be on every single minute but at least check their email and get back to people ASAP, I know that would help a lot and that helps make everything NOT last minute. I am very sorry, I hope that we can find you another horse and actually get it home to you.

Chamiyo, I am also sorry to hear you were not able to get a horse you had your heart set on. It is hard enough many times to find an adopter for a horse and when there is someone there ready and willing to take one of these wonderful horses, it is truly a shame it didn't work out for you. I have to say this must have happened very quickly with Chuck selling Hart, because her placement specialist was Kirsten, and you will not find anyone quicker or better to make sure possible adopters get attention.
Please stay with this board and who can tell what connection there will be with you and another horse someday.
Aleta
