But now to get down to finding transportation and quarantine; I was a bad girl and didn't get it ahead of time.

I moved Kitkat off the lot today to Ryans, along with Aura and Archer, all loaded like champs and were very hungry...

Thank you! I'm sure she appreciated it (as do I!).
Glad to hear she's good about getting in the trailer; shellyr's supposed to take her for quarantine today.
A month seems like it's going to take forever; I can't wait and I had to go to Stroh's today and get her a break-away leather halter and lead rope (purple, of course ). I already have a new grooming kit put together fit for a queen, all purple (before I even heard of CBER) in a black velvet bag with a rhinestone crown on it. Yeah, I'm a little silly, but she needs to come home to nice things and lots of love, imo.

Slight change of plans; she's going to stay at Ryan's for quarantine. I know she'd get *excellent* care at both places, so it's all good.

Absolutely! Hey, I can't wait to see your after pictures, too!
What are your plans for Miss Kitcat? What kind of riding do you do?

After we get to know each other and get our groundwork down and she is slowly brought back into riding shape (I'm thinking 6+ months before backing, or how ever long it takes; no rush; I don't think I'm going to make the '08 Olympics, and it's not going to be her fault, if you know what I mean ), I'll see if she likes jumping (small jumps; if she likes it, my eventual goal is 2.5'-3'; that's high enough for me to get that "rush" these days ), or see if she likes dressage. Then, eventually do some low key, relaxed local shows and see what happens from there.
Oh yeah, and lots of trails. I don't subscribe to the notion of keeping horses in a stall 22 hours a day and only let them see the inside of indoor arenas those two hours they're out of their stalls. (No offense to anyone that has found this an effective way to keep high maintenance sport horses, btw. I'm just more low-key )

I agree with you completely that variety is good for them!
And I can totally see Kitcat jumping...I really look forward to seeing you posting pictures of her over fences here one day. She will be so beautiful when she is back to normal weight.

Got an update on Kitcat today:
"She is the same ol' Kit. Mellow, easy going, a little dominant with Archer, who is two, so that can be expected. I don't have any reservations when my kids are in with her (age 7 and 11) or my dogs. She is really a nice horse. Her coat is looking better and she has put on a little weight! I think she may need some dentistry as I see the grain falling from her mouth when she eats. She eats everything I give her though! Her mane is all braided and she loves her daily grooming. Her feet will need to be trimmed soon. I will get pictures of her today and send those out tonight."
Sounds like my kind of girl; gotta keep those males in line! I'm surrounded by 'em; hubby, step-sons, even my macaw and betta fish are males; it'll be nice to have something around on my team.
She sounds wonderful; good around kids and dogs... and she's a TB that likes being groomed! YES! Can't wait to get her out here!
