OMG, my massage therapist, that I can't even afford anymore, just sent $100 to save Winter. We are down to $194 with less than an hour to go to 8PM. From Jodi - I just sent $100 To save WINTER. Please let me know if it helps. My reciept # is 9L387154T2231623S Is my math right? There was another $120 for Winter (including the above $100) from the ABR Board. I was quite surprised by a thread on ABR and then when I read it, I found it really remarkable. You innocently posted there after seeing Kirsten's ad on Equinenow.com for Winter. Why? I assume it is because Fans of Barbaro do a fantastic job networking rescues across the country and raise alot of donations. But is it not ironic? CBER is not fundraising there at this time, but horse rescue is quite a small world....Winter got to ABR anyway!!! and very important funds were raised. Please don't let your enthusiasm get squelched on ABR because some asked about your wiki. Everyone does have to have a wiki to start a thread/raise money/cheerlead... It is only because ABR has become known to many and some people have come to the forum under false pleas to scam FOBs who are known for their generosity. Please ask for help if you need it. But I give you a huge thank you for just jumping in to help in any way you could and you became Winter's champion.....

I'm an emotional and physical wreck this morning, so many things happening at once. Too much for my Fibro-fog, which I describe as A.D.D. with head-to-toe pain.
But before I lose my train of thought I want to say there are some really special human creatures here AND on the ABR board, as well as "independents", and those yet to be found.
I pray every day for these innocent creatures...these gifts from God...and I'm limited to what I can do, except to try to encourage people to stay focused and pure in the purpose to help the horse and in doing so, live a joyful and purposeful life, in their incredible presence.
Thank you all for your help with Winter, Feather and all that you do to help the horses.
Thanks to all those on the ABR board who pitched in to help both WINTER & FEATHER, and thanks to my personal friends who got emails from me last night, who have never, ever been in this world but stepped up to help to the tune of $150. We are all struggling to survive life and to maintain our contribution to the horse. The only $$wealthy people I know are the ones filling the killpens with horses.
I just know if we all just keep it about the horses and try to keep the "human stuff" out of it, so much more progress can be made. So many of you proved exactly that for Winter & Feather, and countless others.
Nothing I can say or do can express the value of the incredible contribution you make--but we can all see it in the eyes of the horse.
What lies behind us-- What lies before us-- Are tiny matters compared to What lies within us. ---Ralph Waldo Emerson

Thank you everyone for raising the funds on this mare so far. It looks like she needs less than $100 and she can be off the lot and into quarantine. It looks like if just 8 people will send in 10 dollars she will have the last smidge of funds she needs. Or even 16 people at 5 dollars would do it.

I love these group efforts!
Thank you again Victoria for leading the charge and thank you to Kirsten who originally posted the ad that drew Victoria in to help these horses. I am so relieved for Winter. I know that we have a backup for her, so I will leave my ads up online and we may very well get a forever home for her...... Thank you everyone as we move on to finish helping the remaining horses before new ones are listed.
