RIMROCK is a 8 year old Draft cross gelding. He is a BIG beefy guy who has tons of power in his front end. Rimrock is green broke at best and needs groundwork training and desensitizing. He has some trust issues but softens to touch and is learning to give to pressure. He loves the treats and wants to please. He would be an excellent project for an experienced horse person who is experienced with Natural Horsemanship Training. He is about 15.2hh and is a big flashy boy and is sound. He loads very easy and rides quietly in the trailer. Rimrock cannot be housed with other horses, he prefers to be housed alone and is very dominant in a pasture situation. Adoption Fee: TBD - He has entered training Email Jim for more information : jim@htequinerescue.com

Rimrock update: Well we built the boy his own paddock attached to the barn and he seems very happy there. He does want to go out w/ the other horses and we are going to work on that....Oslo will be outta the pasture and into his own soon so that will help. We had a big groundwork clinic Mo taught today and a guy with limited horse experience used Rimrock in the clinic and they both did very well!! I have to say I think his fear of men is gone. HE LOVES JIM!!! He follows him while we work on the fence and leans his head over Jim's shoulder. So I think w/ more work the boy is gonna be GREAT!!! ;D He is very soft now when he is scratched and touched, his fearful look is gone and he doesn't turn his head away any longer to hide from you.

Rimrock is doing very well with his groundwork. He stands for the farrier no problems and is a gentleman on the ground. He is smart and willing. He has some studdy behavior and seems to have no social skills in a pasture / herd setting, we took him into the vet today to have bloodwork done to make sure he isn't proud cut. He is being housed with Katie Mae since she is no push over!! He picks on the smaller horses, but other than that he is great!!! He HATES Oslo!! Here are new pics of the beefcake waiting for his shots the other day, he was a gentleman for his vaccines and for the farrier!

UPDATE:
I worked with Mr. Rimrock today. He did excellent. He is such a pleasure to work with on the ground and he is very docile. He lunges both ways and knows voice commands. It appears the nervousness shows up when the saddle shows up, so we are working on that. We had a long grooming session today and he wore the saddle for the whole time, he then forgot about his nervousness. I cut him a bridle path and pulled his mane and he stood like he has been doing this his whole life everyday.
I think he will make a beautiful horse for someone, he looks sooo nice in an english saddle and he has a nice long back! He has a nice gait as well and you sure can see the power in that front end! He could boy can carry some weight I am sure!

I love this horse. If only that darn husband of mine would get a good job, I could buy him.

Rimrock has been adopted by one of our volunteers who has had her eyes on him since he arrived. (Thanks to Wendy P for giving us a "heads up" on him.) Another happy ending for a very nice horse in need!

Yes, it is I who was lucky enough to get Rimrock and Hattie. Those two have bonded really well. Rimrock follows Hattie all over the place like a lovesick puppy. They really like their new home, Rimrock even whinnies now every time he sees me or Amber. On the drive over to their new place, I was so happy, I cryed. My heart felt like it was bursting in my chest. It might sound corny, but its true. It's funny how certain animal friends touch something deep in your heart. Thank you Jim and Sherry and Wendy for the addition to our family. I will post pics soon. You can see some on the Hytyme web page under adopted.

Ocean9011 - I'm so happy this worked out for you and Rimrock. Sometimes the path they have to take to get where they are supposed to be is a little rocky, but it's worth it in the end.
Please keep us updated on his progress. He sure is a pretty boy!!!!!!!!!!!!
