I used to be a Barn Manager, after going up through the labels we have above our names. Now I'm down to a Horse Poor Owner again. Why is that?
How do people go up through these labels, meaning, why are people promoted, and why are they demoted? How does this system work?
Is it because I asked questions, legitimate questions as a person contributing money to CBER, about Lavender and Meadow?
thank you,
Em

How weird! I honestly don't know, and I sure hope it's not a popularity contest. On a lighter note, I would have to think it would be more fun to be a horse owner than a barn manager, though!

Thanks Gratefulknits for replying.
I see 2 staff members are currently here on the board. Maybe one of them can answer.

I think all the proboards have something like it. Its part of the package....

Thank you for all the replies. I'm a bit paranoid after the Lavender and Meadow thread disappeared.
So, by people's names, where it says Global Moderator and Admin, that is because of how many posts those people have posted, or are those supposed to be the people in charge of the board? Or is that "staff"??
Also, if this isn't a CBER board, who are the staff or people in charge affiliated with, are there some from each rescue who are staff or admin, or is it just CBER people? And how do we know who is who?
Thanks. Just trying to get a feel for the board, being new to pro boards.
Em

Hi Em,
This board is managed by PEC, who runs her own rescue. The admins and moderators consist of some CBER volunteers, but most of the staff are not CBER volunteers. Decisions as to how this board is run are not made by CBER volunteers. CBER is just grateful to have a spot for supporters to gather.
It is up to PEC to decide who should become a moderator or admin. From my experience, invitations to become staff on this board are extended to those people who have shown long term dedication to this board and are genuinely interested in seeing this board thrive.
I hope this helps.

Thanks Jen. Is there a list so we know who is who, and who is with who? Why is the group so focused on CBER, no offense to the other rescues here, with the moving headers and stuff being all about CBER? Also, who has the ability to delete threads? If you click on the "members" icon, you have the ability to view the staff members. There are no labels to differentiate who is affiliated where. The headers tend to change based on what activity needs immediate attention. I believe CBER is only feedlot rescue organization on this board, and feedlot rescues often have the most urgent needs, which is why the header may seem to be focused on CBER. However, if another rescue were to alert the board to an urgent matter, I'm sure the banner would change.
The board probably appears to be CBER-centric because CBER is currently the most active rescue on this board, and has many supporters here. Some of the other rescues may even have their own boards. It's all about establishing presence. For instance, if you were to announce you were starting a rescue and came to this board for help, you might see the attention shift to you and your rescue endeavor. If you had horses to list, you would be more than welcome to have the opportunity to "spotlight" them in an effort to find them homes.
Only an Administrator can delete a thread.

Thank you so much, Jen, for your patience and for explaining it to me. I get it now. Thanks everyone who replied. What a wonderful thought, to one day have my little rescue here. It's a great place to network, and I've already learned so much. I do appreciate that. Em If you click on the "members" icon, you have the ability to view the staff members.
