I'm sorry, I've been trying to load pics for a half hour via photobucket and it will not upload them. Just gets stuck. I'll try again tomorrow.
Are there any options OTHER than photobucket?

They are probably too big. E-mail them to me and I'll fix them and post ;D

The sack didn't tear, so we had to do it. But, as you can see, she had her head up and checking out her new life right away. Kaleigh was absolutely exhausted. She didn't even pic up her head and LOOK at the baby for almost 20 minutes. Her (K's) breathing was okay so we just let her rest. She started to pic up her head a couple times and just dropped it back down. "jeez, what just happened? I'm exhausted!" Finally she picked it up, looked around and straight at the baby. The baby was directly between K and I so I got a clear look at her expression. She was the most perplexed animal I've ever seen. We all laughed (quietly and respectfully, of course!). "What in the HECK is THAT?" "let me get a better look" "well. hello there."

I love the ultra "bed-head" shot complete with straw! She's looking at her little baby with a sort of perplexed look. Great pictures!

The baby was on it's feet in less than 30 minutes. Mama Kaleigh took a little longer. But, they got it together. Of course, one of her first activities upon arising was to go check out the hay situation...but she very quickly started sniffing the baby and after a tentative lick or two she settled into being a mom. After making sure they were making progress on their new relationship, we pulled back to the house and watched on camera.

I couldn't get on the cam. Thanks for the pictures. Never seen a birth before. They're really cramped up in there, aren't they! It must really be a rude awakening to be born. . .and. . .such a freedom from such cramped quarters. Love the expression on Kaleigh's face! Too precious.

It was pretty amazing to watch! K is mindful of her baby, without being insanely overprotective. The baby still has baby poo, so tonight I had Caeser hold her while I washed her bum. The baby had mixed feelings about the whole business...K watched closely but didn't interfere. (I think she was relieve she wasn't going to have to clean it herself! I should tell her mamacat have to lick/eat their babies pee/poo for the first 3 weeks!) So far - so good. Here are pics from yesterday's walkabout. The Clydesdales were very interested in the baby. Which reminds me.....the most interesting thing happened after the birth. After K started bonding with her baby, she suddenly let out this LOUD whinny. IMMEDIATELY most of the rest of the horses in the barn answered simulaneously with a loud whinny themselves. We all laughed, and Keith said "she just told them". I wondered if that was really what happened. It was the strangest and yet sweetest thing! I'd been told that the rest of the barn would be very restless during the delivery, but that isn't what happened. They were very quiet...until K said whatever she said. Anyone ever experienced this? ok...here they are..... Doesn't she have a cute face? Out they go Looking around Time out for a snack "Hey! Little one! Welcome to the world!" "Meeting the neighbors" "It's kinda warm and bright out here" "I think I'll just lay down for a minute" "I just can't keep my eyes open"

Wonderful pictures! Thanks so much. Both mama and baby are gorgeous. I, too, have no doubt that mama was telling the whole barn about the birth. . .especially since they all answered her. They knew what they were saying. Love the big drafts. . .very interested in the new one aren't they. Maybe Kaleigh is thinking. . "Look what I've got, I have one and you don't and you can't have her."

LOL! You're probably right. Left to Right, the big ones are Wyn (Warmblood gelding), Hannah (Clyde mare), and Mikey (Clyde gelding). Hannah is going to get a baby of her own next year. Wyn LOVES Kaleigh - Kaliegh has been unimpressed so far. Of course, she may change her mind when she goes into her foal heat. But, thankfully, he won't be able to "help" her. LOL!
