I just got off the phone with Caly, she was cracking up because this little cutie has already been trotting around! She said she was also really strong and d**n near pushed her over.
The vet will be out in the a.m. to check on baby and mom.
Caly is thinking of sleeping in the stall tonight...Since there is a camera in the stall, we'll be able to learn if she sleeps in a t-shirt, jammies, or....nothing! ;D Aren't foaling cams fun?!

Ha Ha!
I'm next door again. They're on the TV.
So, pec, how is your colic-y horse? I hope okay!
If anyone is watching on camera and notices when he nurses, can you log it here? I may go to sleep. We ALL might - we've been up for 3 nights waiting for this!
pec, a question- Kaleigh's colostum was poor quality (1.046). Jeanne banks colostrum (one of the many reasons I wanted her to be here!). How much banked colostrum should she be given?
The cute pony mare that foaled out 3 nights ago had amazing colostrum (yellow and thick, like honey I can't remember the reading but it was off the hgih end of the chart (1.08??)) so we gave baby some leftover of hers (about 4 oz) and then another 8 oz of Kaleigh's by bottle (you probably saw that!).
The vet says that should be enough, but Jeanne is not so sure. Can you weigh in? Should we defrost some of the banked colostrum and get more in her? How much more? She isn't nursing yet so we have a window of opportunity.
Thanks!

I was able to read the chat transcripts - you guys were great!! Sorry about the intermission - had to cut the cord and treat it (someone guessed right) cause the placenta came out before K got up.
And covered again when giving baby his enema. :-)
Everything went very well! Thank you "aunties" for such great support!
I DID actually get some sleep. Around 5:30 I saw baby nursing. She's figured out if Kaleigh is eating she's gonna stand still and it's a good time to get a snack! ;D She is very lively!
The vet will be here soon...so gonna wander over there and watch my new little family! ;D

YAYYY!!! Congrats to Caly, Kaleigh, and baby I got lucky and was able to cheer on the delivery from my computer. Luckily nobody else was home, 'cuz they'd have thought I was nuts. Staring at a computer screen and mumbling, "I see a foot!!!!!, Come on girl, almost there, you got it, YAYYYY!!!!". Unfortunately, was too tired to wait for the sweet newcomer to stand up. Saw him/her (?) trying, but had to go to bed. Can't wait for pics. Big hugs and kisses to Mom and baby

Thank you everyone! I'll get pics posted later - got to get them out of the computer. Thank you to pec for posting last night for those who couldn't get the cam connection.
It was a really amazing experience! And, you are right - baby is a spitfire!! We're going to take them out the arena a little later. It'll be fun to see her cut loose!
Last night as she was learning to navigate her legs, she went straight for the hay first, then over to the grain feeder. Yup. She's Kaleigh's girl alright! LOL!!
I'm at work - gotta get payroll out - then back to ranch.

Yahooooiee Kaleigh! & Congratulations Caly ~~ she is adorable! Any names yet? My vote: "In the Spotlight" - because everytime I checked the cam this a.m.- she was standing right there in the light. She looked like she was on stage!
