Ha...we're gonna get that "bed-head" mane pulled one way or another, even if I have to sneak in and do it myself! Actually, since I'm going to see her today, I'm going to take matters into my own hands and give her an Extreme Makeover so she will feel beautiful after the baby is born. Hmmm...I guess Indy is experiencing pregnancy sympathy. What a sweetheart.

PEC - LOL!
Kaleigh is doing fine. I don't think it'll be tonight. She gorged herself at dinner, as usual; the baby isn't in position and her tail is still tight. And she was looking around for grass to start munching when I took her out for a little walk and photo session. (will post later - need to get them outta the camera)
And.... Jen was outnumbered so she still has her bed-head! ;D

No baby yet. She is HUGE! Jeanne commented she may be carrying a draft x. I hope not - not with those skinny TB hips! Or twins! gack! She was more restless last night (on camera) and this morning. Acting kinda funky this afternoon. But EAGERLY awaiting her dinner (head bobbing up and down and up and down and up ......) HURRY UP! HURRY UP! HURRY UP! She had inhaled her grain and given up looking for more and was munching on her hay when I left. This was after grazing all day on the pasture. That girl loves to eat!! (takes after her mom....) sigh I'm supposed to go to a rescue conference this weekend, so I guess this weekend will be it.

If you think her belly looks big in these pics, you should see her in person. It's amazing how big she is yet how comfortable she seems. Of course, she has the Taj Mahal of foaling stalls, so that may have something to do with how relaxed she is!
MTA: My fingers were twitching, I SO wanted to pull that mane. Out of respect for my friend, however, I quietly sat on my hands. (This time...)

Okay....here's today's pics. Jeanne was able get some milk out of her.

Her milk was tested tonight and 40% chance of foaling in the next 12 hours. Jeanne and I both think it will be tomorrow night (Sat) so I'm home tonight. We *think* we've got the foaling cam ready to connect to the web, but cannot get the proper tech support to finish until the morning. So...NO baby tonight! :-)

Not yet......
There is a Welsh Pony mare at the same place who is due on March 19th. Both mares are "tracking" now. Milk tests the same. Similar behaviors. Could have 2 foaling at the same time!! Wouldn't that be fun! (For everyone but Jeanne!!) If we do get the cam up, the pic will flip between Kaleigh and CeCe (the pony).
I'll pass your message to Kaleigh.....
If she waits until the 12th I'm gonna be mildly annoyed cause I'm missing my conference this weekend!!!

Yes, she is VERY round! I'm a little worried that she's carrying twins. Okay, the foalcam is up. wefoal.com/_2007/30373834/cam.htmThere are two mares being monitored. Kaleigh is in the larger/deeper stall with the clearer picture. The camera is black and white so her two-tone tail shows up very dramatically. The second horse is CeCe, a beautiful Welsh pony. Her stall is smaller (she's 11.3 and adorable. Little horse. Big attitude! LOL) and less clear on the webcam. Very clear on the closed circuit that Jeanne is watching, if you are concerned. Both mares milk is 3 out of 5 (40% chance of foaling in the next 12 hours) but neither of them look "ready". So, I'm sleeping at home tonight...and leaving poor Jeanne and Keith on watch! Her milk is starting to leak though. Not a lot. Intermittantly. But definite. In Kaleigh's stall - her water is in the right rear by the window, her grain bucket is to the left, and her hay is right below the camera. You will see her spend a LOT of time at her hay. That girl LOVES to eat. I watched her graze from 1:30-5:30 nonstop except for a brief 10 minute (if that) snooze. Then she inhaled her grain - looked around for me - gave up and started munching her hay! Just an FYI, she generally lays down and SLEEPS in the wee early morning, so don't let that surprise you. That is normal for her. Jeanne said if she was part of a wild herd she would have been eaten a long time ago! CeCe is not due until March 19th, but this is her 3rd foal so she (and her body) know what to do and seem to be anxious to get on with it!! She does a lot of butt scratching! Enjoy - and call me if you see something start happening!!! g'nite, Caly mta: she is under infrared at night, so the pic isn't so clear. But, you can right click the picture and adjust the size, or the video settings (bright/contrast) or take a snapshot! Have fun!

PEC, thank you for fixing the link and making it both sticky and an announcement! I thought there were two identical threads, so I moved one to the archived file (thankfully I didn't delete it!) but there wasn't - it was some kind of announcement thing.. anyway, I messed it up. Sorry..... But I think I fixed it. Heh heh - she's had her breakfast and she's standing at the door waiting to go out. "Hey!! There's grass to be eaten! Lemme out!!!" I'm afraid it's going to be a boring day on the foalcam ;D

In case you didn't know - you can adjust the size and/or the settings (brightness/contrast) as well as take a snapshot but using a right-click on the video pic and selecting what you want to do.
If you select "full size" for the screen size it looks like you can't get back out of it. You can - just hit control-alt-delete ONCE, that will bring up the Windows Task Manager and resize the screen back down at the same time. Just close out of the Windows Task Manager (hit the red X) without doing anything, and you're back to normal.
There may be an easier way...but I haven't found it.
