I was asked to place this info with the hope that we can help this guy find a home. Sounds as thought he may be a great kids horse. They're close to me and I'd be happy to go out and meet him, take photos, etc if needed this weekend.
She's hoping to find a place for him by the end of the month, but we may have time. If a safe home can't be found, she'll have him euthanized rather than put him at risk.
He's been diagnosed with navicular. Vet is Pioneer Equine, Xrays have been done. Don't know the farrier, but Pioneer is great about working with farriers to keep horses sound.
I believe Reina (Spicyracer) may know her....
Will upload the pics shortly.

Token is a registered quarter horse. He is 16 yrs old and 15 hands. He is blood bay with very little white. He is balanced and good looking. He is UTD on his vac. His is kid and "husband safe".SO kind and gentle and needs someone who has the time to take care of him. He has been diagnosed with navicular. His feet have not started changing yet and are very even. He has pads and egg bar shoes on right now and seems to be doing fine. He is still sound to ride. I watched him jog a couple of days ago and he still travels good. The vet says he will still be good on the flat for quit sometime. The owner will put him down if she can not find some one good to care for him. She rather do that then send him to a neglectful situation. I have given lessons to the owners on this horse on several occasions.........he is a good horse!
EMAIL DIRECTLY FROM THE OWNER:
Hi Tracy and fellow horse people,
Thank you everyone for your interest in my quarter horse that is in need of a good home. Below are a few answers to some questions that others have asked. I will also attach some pictures. Please do not hesitate to call me as we need to find Token a good home by the end of June.
Token is a quarter horse bay gelding, 16 yrs old and 15hh.
Nicole Baldrige is our farrier.
Pioneer Equine is our vet and we did get x-rays.
Token is in Cull Canyon, Castro Valley.
He can still trail ride and he does trot and canter. You will find that he prefers the softer ground and goes slow down hills. At this point, the vet did not give us limitations.
I can't stress enough how kind and sweet he is. He will come up to me and just rest his head on my shoulder, asking to be loved on. I have had my neice and nephew on him and lead them around the corral. He knows when he has a novice on his back, but will listen to a rider w/skills.
Please give me a call when you would like to see him. We need to find him a good home basically by next weekend. You can call me at home, or during working hours on my cell. I don't work on Wednesdays, and could find time to meet you this Wednesday if that works. I would just need to work out a few details of my day.
Thank you for your interest,
Meg
