I CAN'T believe I'm posting as looking for a horse !!! I have plenty of "project rescues" - so we are waiting for just the right one! But... my finace has been playing the supportive roll for quite a few years and I now know he is ready for his own horse. He has a fair amount of riding experience- but wants a horse he can ride without too much worry. We are looking for a stout, possibly part-draft horse who is trail broke and middle-aged. Not in any big hurry- just need to find the "right one" ;D for him.

HOW stout? Take a look at CHAMP, former CBER rescue ... I wouldn't call him stout, but he does have lots of bone and is rather "hunky" for a TB, more like a warmblood ... CHAMP is looking for a trails/pleasure partner, and suitable for a beginner ... email RO member Jamie aka Jtjedi at: jthomas@midpointcad.comHere he is on the trail baby-sitting a young rider:

Believe me....I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Champ- I've followed his thread since the beginning and I know he will make somebody a GREAT horse! We have a 26 yr old thoroughbred gelding rescued from auction that reminds me so much of Champ- just the sweetest, easy- going guy- these aged geldings are the BEST ;D! My fiancee has ridden and learned a ton from him! The thing is... my fiancee is a big guy, about 250lbs and I want to find a horse I don't have to worry about him overworking on the somewhat tough, steep canyon trail rides we take around here. I just don't know if Champ would be up for that, long term.

I have a PMU foal, now 4 years old, he is 3/4 Suffolk Punch (draft) and 1/4 morgan... a nice, sturdy boy... his only drawback is that he is green... safe, and sane, but green totally. He is a walk trotter right now, and needs miles and miles... but if your guy has experience, and wants to put miles on, Bob is great and will only get better! Let me know! (he is about 16.2, and vet says he is 2000+ lb with big draft feet... not huge, but big) started right, last fall, John Lyons method. He is still at light aids to move forward, back, and one rein stop... not a mean bone in his big body...!!! here are a few pics and a video that a prospective buyer sent me from a few weeks ago, she was looking for a horse for the boyfriend (who is the photographer), who had already chosen another horse by the time they got to see us, but what the heck, they came and met him anyway... she was sweet and offered the video and pics to me to show other prospective buyers and commented on how great a greenie he was... this is, of course, her first time on him, and he hadn't been ridden by my trainer in 2 weeks at this point! I think he did fine! tinyurl.com/5avm8ms279.photobucket.com/albums/kk150/elaineshickman/Bob%20-%20Suffolk%20Morgan%20Gelding/

Hi ther I am the one who had Molly from SOS, I lost my job and had to return her she is on the main page under meet the horses, I think they are asking $500 for her, she is a great horse huge but sweet, she is 16hands (maybe bigger) 1500 pounds, she was previously used as a lesson horse, I really hated to return her, but being a single mom with 2 kids makes it real hard without a job, but Shawna really helped me out I really appreciate her.

Beth - I figured it would just be easier in the end if I just moved in with you. That way I don't have to figure out how to get all your horses over here. I don't do dishes, but I can scoop poop all day!
