Yes, the Angel Fund does still exist and has been helping people/horses, we just don't always mention it. I take full responsibility for not promoting it more.
I do want to point out that there are two borrowers who are very delinquent. A few of us have made repeated attempts to contact these people to no avail. I am going to make one more attempt to connect before I reveal their names on this board.
We do now have a promissory note for borrowers to use for future loans. I'm just sorry that I have to report that two people who many of us know, have decided to steal these funds.

The Angel Fund seems to have helped save dozens if not more horses... I am sad to hear that there are folks who would dishonor this fund and so jeopardize the lives of future horses that the Angel Fund could help. Anyone who would renig on the Angel Fund ought to be black listed in the rescue community as they are truly NOT in it for the horses.
I am eagerly awaiting news that this has been righted... or else the names of those who have done this so that I can be sure to avoid any possible dealings with them in the future.

they only hurt the horses by their actions, which is the sad thing!

Jen, do not be sorry if you have to "out" the people who took advantage of the Angel Fund. Some times it takes the threat of public humiliation to make someone do the right thing. Shame on them.

I've wanted to make things right and I have contacted Jen, end of November it was, but have not heard anything back yet. I was a PS for CBER Flash...his adopter needed to borrow from the angel fund to help pay for his adoption fee. I told the Angel Fund members that she was a good person and that she should be approved for borrowing this money and if she didn't pay it back, I would pay it back...but then the unexpected happened...Flash died in QT and his adopter disappeared, never paying back the angel fund. I've returned to school and have offered to start making payments in spring as that is when I am financially able to do so. Thanks, Kirsten

I'm wondering if he was the horse I found cast in his shelter at Sam's when I met Wilma's new adopter up there.

I remember that day really really well...it was during the mess with SOS horse Wilma, her adopter & all that crap...anywho..long story short, Sam was close to where the adopter had taken her after her being picked up at my house, we found out, had a cow & had them take her to Sam's. I met the person the new adopter at Sam's since it was closer for them. I heard a lot of thrashing around up in the QT area, I was down at the middle pens..I helped them load Wilma & went up to make sure everything was ok.
I found him cast in his shelter, trying to get up. I called Sam, she was in Ellensburg getting hay with 2 other people. The horse had colic'd that morning, the vet came out gave him some meds & they all left. Brody my son was with me so I wasn't comfortable doing anything by myself in a 12x12 shelter with a horse I didn't know. He had kicked a hole thru the shelter in his thrashing & a jagged piece of wood was at the top of the hole. Everytime he would try to get up, he would ram the jagged edge into his face. I couldn't take it anymore, found a halter got it on him, and put his face on my boot, so it would be out of the sh*t & he wasn't able to pur his head up. I had Brody go get one of my head ropes out of the truck...why I had my rope bag in my truck I have no idea since its usually in the trailer..I finally got my loop around both back feet & rolled him off the wall. With some help he got up & I led him around until the vet got there...it took him about an hour. I told him what I knew & Sam was about 10 minutes away so I left. I was very sad to hear that he died shortly there after. He was a really sweet guy & tried so hard that day. I never could figure out why all 3 of them had to go get hay when a horse had just colic'd...even if the vet had been out...
