Hi guys,
I took in an older QH gelding a month ago to keep him from being put down. He is sooo sweet and has so much life left to live. He came from a bad situation originally and I would love for him to live the rest of his life knowing love. That said I do not the funds to keep him along with my others. I cannot afford to feed all my horses and Levi...and I just had a $400 vet bill for my old mare who slashed her leg and needed 30 stiches yesterday. I am getting desperate. He has limitations...the vet said he can go on light trail rides at the walk only. He cannot trot or canter with a rider on him as he is not completely reliable at the faster paces. He has an old injury that she said left a neuro problem with his front leg. It does not hurt him she just says that he is not stable enough to trust him not to trip at the trot or canter. He does it no problem in pasture. He comes to life on trail and walks faster than any of the younger horses on the property. Nothing fases him. The only thing I will say is a negative with him is he gets VERY attached to other horses. He gets better with time but he bonds very quickly. If anyone can help me out if they know of anyone who might be interested or can help. Thanks.
Desiree

What's the deadline? If he can't be found a *good* home in time, can we help fundraise to euthanize him? It may be more kind to have him put down peacefully at home than uproot him.

I am not sure of a certain time...It is really stretching it financially to feed him and if/when I have to move my horses when the house is sold I don't think I can swing taking him I will euthanize him if I cannot find him a suitable home. I am just trying my hardest to find him a place to be happy. I am not sure how to post pictures on here and I would love to post a pic of Levi...Thank you for caring

Desiree, Have you posted info on him on the SoCal Equestrian Network? I'm not too familiar with it, but it it's anything like Bayequest (here in Norcal), you may also find help there. www.socalequest.com/You did a wonderful thing and this geldiing seems like he would be a good horse for someone. Thank you for helping him!

Hi Desiree, Have you thought about checking into your local therapuetic riding center? They might love to have a horse like this for their clients and he would be loved to pieces!
