As some of you know, I have been on the fence about adopting Bullseye who was SOS Damien. Well I finally jumped off the fence & decided to officially adopt him. I think the smile on my sons face when he I told him says it all. I wrote about them on my blog for today & I'll be damned if I'm not starting to tear up again. you can read our blog at: www.soshorses.org/DEF-About.asp

Oh wow Shawna, what a sweet story, Bullseye and Brody sound like the perfect pair. I can't wait to hear stories of their rodeo experiences.

Very nice, reminds me of my son's first horse who we got from rescue many many years ago. He had been rescued, skin and bones, from a jerk who used horses and tossed them. He had growled to the horse's rescuers that he was "just getting ready to can him anyway"... a month later we adopted him, and never looked back. Worth his weight in gold for his ability, safety and knowledge in taking care of a little boy. With Chad aboard, he led many of us on a young horse through a stream or over a bridge on the trail with a proud young man in the saddle. He also won him his first team penning award and would stand still for hours for him to throw a rope off his back at something. He would "jump" over little poles if pointed at them and had the most perfect lope/canter to learn on as he could literally do it in place. His best thing was that he rode to the ability of the rider and would do what was asked if they knew how, or would stand still, follow me around if they didn't. Never spooked and was such a smart ol' guy. Have so many memories and stories. LOVED that guy and he was about 20 when we got him and lived to be about 31. Told many people that the old experienced ones like this are the best for the little ones and they deserve the love of a kid when they are in their golden years. I so wish more would realize how valuable they are. Brody is a lucky guy and so is Bullseye!
