Silver was generously bailed by her CBER friends, and she thanks them for her life. She is free on Gift Contract and her price goes up to cover board and care $100 a week until she is gone starting Sunday.

First month cost: Vet-159.00.........If I needs it or not .............................Hay-100.00 .............................Grain-20.00 ..........................Hooves-50.00 ............................Total-329.00 Every month following cost.....120.00 month (1)...329.00 ...........(2)...120.00 ......... .(3)...120.00 ........total-=569.00 CBER......300.00 per month (now 400.00) for hay and space they take up... You pay for the rest...............QT yourself and save...And the big one, the horse is under your care and you can see on a daily bases... chatty

What concerns me the most is what happens after a couple of months when no money has come in for the horse, and there is no adopter lined up. Pick an option:
1. Silver coliced and had to be euthanized. 2. Silver goes to Wayne to be a broodmare. 3. Silver goes to Kristen for "training", never to be seen again. 4. Silver collapses and dies in the pasture. 5. Silver goes back to Chuck and on to slaughter. 6. Wayne puts a bullet in Silvers head.
Am I missing anything?

Sadly, I do not think you are missing anything. I wish someone, I mean a real person who wants to adopt, could take this horse. But if no one will take her when she is free, they will not pay for her when her ransom goes up $100 a week.
There was another Arabian named Taurus who was at Sam's place for quite awhile, I think last year. He was supposed to go to someone named Carrie. Do you think he was cycled back into the slaughter system too? He was a chestnut gelding.

I just read Silvers thread and it looks like she has someone to take her home as soon as her home pictures come in.

I did receive pics from Carrie of Taurus in his new home. Haven't heard much from her at all the last year...i will email and maybe get and update on him. I have some pics if you would like me to email them to you. Let me know.

No. Other than I'm not sure why option #6 would be a possibility when #5 makes more money for them. Same thing to be said for 1-4......

After we got home you said her adopter wasn't taking her and I asked Sam about her and was told that her adopter had paid for everything and was very dedicated to taking her home. I'll be very sad if it was. She was a lovely mare... I would have loved to have her.

Silver goes to Idaho When Sundance's sponsor could no longer afford to sponsor her, they let me bring her here to Idaho. She's alive and well and doing fine. I don't see any reason why, if someone needed help finding a safe place for a horse that they sponsored, I couldn't help another one. I haven't heard a peep about Silver, though. I'm not even sure which one she is.

And another option we've heard multiple times, horse got kicked in the head and had to be euthanized on the lot.

Kirsten, if you could get an update on Taurus that would be great. Taurus update!!! Hi Kirsten! Taurus is doing great, he will actually be going to his first rodeo (with us anyway) in May with my 5 year old daughter to do pee-wee barrels!!! We are very excited as this will be her first rodeo also!!! Taurus is a great fit for our family, and we couldn't have been more blessed to have him in our home! He loves kids, craves attention and gets plenty of it! He did drop off a little over the winter, but we've got him on a good senior grain and nice alfalfa/grass mix hay and he is gaining daily. He really is a love and I cannot imagine life here without him!!! I'll take pictures at the rodeo and send you some! Thanks for checkin' on us....hope you are doing good as well! Carrie
