My CBER mare, my beautiful Beauty, is gone. I found her lying in her corral this morning, dead. NO SIGNS of thrashing. It looks like she just dropped where she was, maybe hitting her head on one of the corral pipes. Whatever happened, it happened quickly. I am completely devastated. I LOVED this mare. She was calm, she was patient, she was smart! She was the only one of my horses I've ridden so far. I learned so much from her. She was my friend and companion. I don't know what I'll do without her. Please, if you can, as a way of remembering her, could you make a donation to the rescue of your choice? She was a feedlot mare herself, only 5 years young. Sundancer (Cheryl Ann) Thank you and I do appreciate your condolances. My Beauty:

My dearest friend, I am sitting here crying for your loss. I know in my heart that you are right, that whatever happened was instantaneous and that she didn't suffer. But I know equally well that you are suffering now in your grief and shock. I wish there were words that could lessen your pain ... there are none. My heart is full with your loss. Please know, that although my thoughts and prayers can't ease your pain, that nonetheless you ARE in my thoughts and prayers, that you have my love and friendship and that of the other members of this board. Know more than anything that Beauty is now FOREVER safe from the risks she faced when you saved her life from the feedlot, forever safe from illness or injury, fear or hardship. She waits for you on the trails in heaven where you will both at long last get to take the rides together that you dreamed of.
At your request I am making a donation both to SAFER and to your favorite rescue, TBFriends. As soon as I have done so, I'll send you copies of the receipts. Both donations will be made "In Memory of Beauty, much loved and forever missed".
I love you, Cheryl.
Hope

I'm so sorry to hear this. I can 'see' her in my mind...on the Lot, and after she reached safety. Such a beautiful mare. I can only take solace that she didn't suffer.

There aren't any words that can make you feel better right now. I hope it helps somehow to know that other people feel your loss. You will be in my prayers.

My deepest empathies for for your loss. This is every horse owners worst nightmare.....no reason, no ill health, no preparation for that final separation.
May All That Is bless her beautiful soul and yours. You are in my thoughts these days as I review all the horses needing help. How she found her home with you and in your heart. She will always live there. Kate

Oh Cheryl, I am so sorry for your loss!!!
Beauty was on the lot when I first started volunteering for CBER to try to help the horses. Thank you so much for offering her a wonderful forever home.....she will be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for you someday so you can pick up where you left off.
I see that TB Friends is one of your favorite rescues, so I will be sending Joe a little something in Beauty's memory....
Stacie

You are in my prayers, Cheryl Ann. I'm so glad she knew your love instead of what could have been. And what a blessing for you to have had her love and trust.
The next rescue mare I take in will be named in her honor.
Take care Kerrie

I am so, so sorry to hear this! I too remember Beauty! She was a beautiful mare and I am so glad you had each other, although I'm sorry it was for such a short time. May time sooth the wound to your heart and soul that her loss has brought, and may it be covered over by the love you shared.
