My friend has a gelding she rescued and just noticed he has a lip tattoo that reads 1023. He is older, sound and up to date on everything including teeth. 16h sorrel. She said a beginner can ride him and he is ready for rehoming-$200 fee applies. Goes in arena or on trail.
Does anyone know what breed he might be with such a short number? My friend tells me that he's not a tbred. So would he be a standardbred maybe?
Thanks for your help. Cynthia
Anyone interested in adopting him, he is located in Yreka, CA which is close to the Oregon border

Is it possible there is also a letter but it just has faded away? Standardbred, Thoroughbred and QH's all have letters and numbers in their tattoos. Arabians have the last six digits of their registration number.
A Standardbred has either a one letter and four numbers or two letters and three numbers. A QH will have four numbers followed by a letter.
