There seems to be a renewal of interest in keeping updated-that is so cool! Since I love looking at other peoples-I thought I'd chime in here with my update as well.
I got an Arab gelding George, and an Appy gelding Leo, Aug 05. Neither were posted on the website-(I think the arab may have been for a half an hour?)
Leo had a couple shoes on overgrown feet-so he was lameish when I got him-and attributed it to overwork on long feet-who knows-long story short-he has had intermittent lameness issues with no certain diagnosis. He was rehomed for 3 years and I got him back again this March. He is in LOVE with my TB and is mostly a pasture puff-I think we have saddled him two or 3 times to leadline, once for hubby to ride (lasted half hour and got walked back) Leo IS, quite simply THE HANDSOMEST horse in the Universe! Currently getting ground flax and ani-motion along with his feed, just blew out an abcess, and he's barefoot, farrier is gonna try some shoes/pads when he comes next time in 3 weeks. Wish us luck-if anyone has any ideas-I'd love to hear it.
George was a case of "the truck is coming!!the truck is coming!!" when I went to see Leo-so of course he came home too. George came with his papers ("Protege VE")-I've always been tempted to contact his previous owner to ask if she knew where he was headded. George is the sweetest horse and is my new hubby's horse-George will go as slllllooooowwwww as you let him-and hubby is fine with that-they PERFECT for each other-not great for impatient ol ME when I wanna go on a trail ride and hubby decides to join...oh well. George on rt on third pic from top
and with my dad in the back (of course!)
I got Little Joe June 06-he came off the rez at about 18 months ("Saxon") He IS THE COOLEST FRIKKIN HORSE EVERRRRRR
I LOVE this guy. OMG. Ok so 'people' (new poeple) are NOT his thing but he will climb over anything you point him at on the trail. But-you run across someone dressed funny or say-trail running-ummm yeah...... another story. I took things very slow with him and we are having a blast. Mostly I ride him-but I've had my daughter on him a few times and they get along well too. We are pretty casual-trailriders-but I took him to a show and we got 5th in trail class-who-hoo!
And...
The red TB in a couple of the pics above was NOT a CBER horse-but I saw a listing for "Home needed asap" on here-so you guys get some credit forthat one too!
My life in a nutshell-
OK who is next to report in???
