So is there a new website/message board or is it just closed down? What a shame, it seems that SOS works so so hard and then they have to deal with creepy people that badmouth them.

I've been wondering, too, and worrying. I hope everything is ok.

when I go there it says that the board is in maintenance mode and only staff can log on; that's the message I've been getting for over a week.

You might try emailing Shawna and asking her. I am sure she will let you know whats going on.

If anyone knows who has adopted split pants from sos ,if they have them contact me they can have the papers from the jockey club.posted on craigslist but someone from sos flagged it.And it wasn't people bad mouthing sos it was the fact she started euthanizing horses recently instead of finding them homes and her not answering their questions that got the people on ABR mad at her. Thanks

Wared, please don't pretend here that you are an innocent party to the troubles SOS has had. It might be best for all concerned if you found a different pot to stir.

not looking to stir the pot.sos was told when split pants got adopted out that the adopter would get the papers.she has been adopted out ,so would like to send her papers..and don't act like shawna is innocent in euthanizing those horses grateful.

Jimi...go stir your pot else where...no one here has any interest in what you have to say with your lies. Your just trying to dig for information....to see what other kinds of trouble you can cause SOS. I am sure you have alot of lies to tell over on ICERS.

no rodeo actually call shawna..she was told, still have the email that those mares papers would go to their new owners..unfortunately capts dreams will be filed under dead horses because shawna killed her even though there was people to take her ,out of spite she killed that one..and as far as lameness issues goes her vet is down by emerald downs and can be contacted and he will tell you other then 1 abcess that mare had never been lame..so rodeo what lies hve been told on icers? since yor a frequent flyer over there do tell ..

So why don't you just give the papers to SOS so they can give them to the adopter Jimi?

I dunno either.. sounds like they did something to piss off someone, which is oh so hard to do online.. What I do know is Jill from Lifesavers has been to two auctions this summer with donations to buy 270 recently gathered and not protected wild horses this summer. For the first auction a lady donated $30,000, and Jill & other rescuers sat across from Oly and out bid him for all 172 horses. It was AWESOME! She had all the horses moved off the auction lot by the next day (as ordered) and has nursed the herd through West Nile. The first one died before the sale, another the day after they moved them, & they had to have a couple put down but lost WAY less then the 10% the vet predicted. All have been vaccinated twice, photographed and cataloged, and many are available (just email Jill) Most are BLM mustangs that had moved off the HMA, and some are from some ranch stock that was turned out. For some reason BLM paid to have them rounded up even tho they weren't mustangs, and were not on public land... (Probably so they could declare the whole lot Estray and therefore unprotected) Jill did get a call very soon after the sale to make sure she knew it was illegal for her to turn the horses out on public land... lol as if they paid $31,000 just to put the horses back into jeopardy by letting BLM be in control of them ever again! The next batch are a mixed lot, some very friendly and possibly are loose stock. 30 of them have headed off to a sanctuary already. (a 20 something girl paid for them and found them a sanctuary to go to ) These days with the EU paperwork to be done, and many horses being unfit for slaughter because of medications, we have to be more diligent in protecting our wild free roaming horses. Since they have NEVER been medicated they are now the best horses for slaughter buyers to buy. Jill and Lifesavers need all the help they can get right now. They are spending about $5000 a month feed and board on this summers rescued horses, and still have the horses at the ranch, and in the Born to be Wild Sanctuary.

So awesome they were able to save that many horses. Can you imagine someone donating $30K that is amazing. That lady sure earned her wings;) God Bless her.

The only thing that appears to be in maintenance mode is their forum. The main website appears to be up, although I don't know if they are updating since I don't frequent their site. www.sosequines.com/

I checked with Shawna; they will have the forum in maintenance mode for a while longer. They are having a lot of problems with 'trolls'. The rescue is still active and you can reach them via email.

So why don't you just give the papers to SOS so they can give them to the adopter Jimi? because as stated in an email exchange with shawna ,the papers will go to the adopter and also dept of ag told her the same thing. The trainer of split pants would like to talk to the new owner and let them know what the history on that mare is..and i wouldn't be taking them the papers the trainer is willing to meet up with them and give them to them personally so do not even need an address..So rodeo since you are a stoic supporter were you in the discussion to euthanize horses instead of feeding them this winter ?
