I never come to this board anymore and could hardly remember how to log in!! After a few tries, I did it. Hello to everyone, I hope you are well. I thought I'd update on a few of the horses who came to me via CBER and RO.
Reggie/Ridge: Nice former dressage horse rescued at auction Oregon by two RO members and needed bladder surgery. He just turned 25 and is the love of my life. It's been a rough road at times, with a pelvic fracture and a bowed tendon along the way. He's retired now, but I showed him for a year in dressage and we had a ton of fun. He also did Pony Club with my daughters.
CBER Pay Day: He's living in Chico, CA with his mom of 4 years. He's now 25. She adores him and takes such great care of him. Pay Day was one of those treasures that came out of a feedlot, a well trained, sound, lovely school horse who was simply unlucky --- how could anyone toss such a gem?. He does dressage and trail rides and is the epitome of bombproof. I get regular updates on him and have gone to see and ride him.
CBER Cayenne: He was adopted by NanciK and lives the ultimate life of retirement on a fancy private ranch in Napa County. He is 22 now, healthy sound and fabulous. He did dressage work for a while. Now he's living at this gorgeous facility where he shares a pasture with all these stunning retired Grand Prix jumpers. Caleb is living the good life. Nanci sees him weekly and adores him.
CBER Rejuvenate aka "Angel" is the emaciated, crippled old mare who was on the feedlot with her foal. Beth Kennalley initially took her, then I adopted her from Beth. She has been with me for, oh, four years now? I love my Angel girl. She is doing great, who would have known? She has to be at least 25 by now. I adore her and try to give her the most cush life possible. She is so beautiful.
Hugs to all. Hope you and your horses are happy & well. My email is watermarkfarm1@yahoo.com if you'd like to reach me. I'm currently serving on the board of directors of a local non profit that works with Animal Control horse cases, the Sonoma CHANGE Program. Great program run by an equine vet. www.sonomachangeprogram.com
