Hello old friends and animals! Hope all is well. Our family lost a few special horse and dog friends this last year due to age related issues and while it broke our hearts, at least we know they had a loving home here for their lifetime after they arrived here and they were happy. One of them, Our beloved Princess (QH), was 31 and we had owned her since she was 6 yrs old! Just before Xmas our Italian Mastiff, Cratos, suffered some neurological changes at age 12 and had to be PTS and that was extremely tough on all of us as we had had him for 10 years when we had adopted him from rescue at age 2.
For those who remember CBER days, we still have our baby boy, now a gorgeous Palomino 6 yr old, who we saved ( at age 1 month) with his Mom from the feedlot, both sick and skinny. Shannon, his Mother is safe with Hytime who adopted her after we rehabbed her for a year, Cortez, as we call the gelding, has trained beautifully, he is smart and super trainable and loves doing things, he is a clown too and makes us laugh. We also have Tess, who we adopted as a PG 4 yr old Percheron draft mare from the big herd that came into the lot, her lovely grey filly, born here, was trained and then adopted out last year to a super home who plans on eventing her as she is a cross that shows talent. My husband claimed Tess and taught her to be ridden and she is the biggest love imaginable! She is now a much lighter gray, but such a pretty girl still. I have received word from some former adopters who have kept in touch with me about horses I placed with them, so it is always good to hear such things about wonderful people and horses. if anyone wants to keep in touch, let me know and I will give you the email I use most now! Take care and Happy Holidays!
