These are very disturbing reports . I remember Honor Boys situation, as he was posted on some TB forums. A number of people had been assisting in his placement and then we all received this insane news!!!!

This seems really suspicious doesn't it? Sounds like proof of death must be legally provided somehow...

Disturbing is right! How can these people that do this sleep at night. I feel so bad for the owners who care about their horses. My heart aches for them.

That is scary and absolute BS. Any hauler/trainer/sales barn/board owner, etc..with any integrity would have photographed the body AND had a vet I.D. it since it's a horse not owned by them. They'd have to know the owner would want proof. I think these horses were sold - hopefully to a good home, and not sold for slaughter or some other purpose. The owners need to take this to the media - nationally. I bet at least one of them turns up......

WOW, that is scary, and very iffy, there are red flags everywhere on what that hauler says and did.

Missing Bay TB Mare Claimed Dead in Ravenswood, WV Dec. 9, 2006 - by Caretaker was not dead! Now we are trying to save her from death. Alissa needs your help, NOW! Where is her beloved horse Halo. Go to website for updated flyer. Alissa was told by the caretaker of her horse that it died. No proof was given. Here at NetPosse.com this is commonplace these days. In this case we now have proof that the caretaker sold Halo at the Mineral Wells horse auction. 1/25/07 - We've learned that Halo was sent to Sugar Creek the first week of December. She was purchased by a man out of West Virginia at the Mineral Wells auction probably around Dec. 2, 2006. He then sold her (maybe that night) to a guy who says he sent her to the Sugarcreek Ohio Horse Auction. If you go to Sugarcreek, know the name of the killer buyers and contacts please contact NetPosse.com, not the buyers at stolenhorse@netposse.com Please contact Alissa (email available on webpage above) and let her know you are there. Her health, this news and the possible consequences of her horse going to a sale like this has taken a toll on her in the worst way. She needs your support and prayers. She needs answers. Lets hope that Halo has a halo over her head and someone is watching over her until we find her. Never underestimate the power of one. Never give up. Pass this to your friends and ask them to do the same. I have some area contacts checking, but I fear that info came in too late. Sugar Creek is usually the last stop for TBs in that area.

I said a prayer, I hope there's an Angel on earth that can help find her...... YOUR PRAYER WAS ANSWERED: The last 24 hours have been grueling as NetPosse volunteers have worked ceaselessly to find out what happened to Halo, the thoroughbred mare sold illegally in West Virginia. At first, the caretaker claimed she was deceased, but then she admitted that the mare had been sold. That confession led to a concerted effort to follow a tip that Halo had been sold at Sugar Creek in Ohio. For almost 24-hours, NetPosse members and their contacts pursued this lead. At the same time, other leads were developing and being checked into. Read about this incredible roller coaster ride that began only five days ago! Never underestimate the power of one! One man saw her worth and probably saved her life! Missing Bay TB Mare Claimed Dead in Ravenswood, WV – Dec. 9, 2006 - by Caretaker – Is not dead! FOUND!!!!! 1/26/07!!! Halo is alive and well and living in WV! We want to thank everyone who played any part in putting together information, following tips, hanging flyers, phone calls and sending emails. Lisa has felt your support and is ecstatic that Halo has been found. It has been a rough couple of days, especially after yesterdays tip that she went to an auction in Ohio. Halo had a halo over head for sure!
