I would like to post this in my area any tips from anyone? LOOKING FOR A NEW HORSE? Currently there are many available horses that without your help will be sent to slaughter. Many of these horses are not old, infirm or damaged animals. Many are just the victims of people not aware of the commitment involved with owning a horse. Columbia Basin Equine Rescue works with a feedlot in Yakima, Washington, trying to save the most adoptable horses. CBER goes onto the lot to assess and list these horses on the Internet. These horses are only available for a short time because they do ship to slaughter at a moment's notice! TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE to save these animals. To find out more information or to adopt please go to www.columbiabasinequinerescue.org/DEF-Home.aspOn this site, you will find an individual assessment and price on each horse, along with photographs. Prices are generally below 800 dollars although you will be required to quarantine them prior to shipping them home. Right now there are horses whose ages range from 2-20. Breeds vary from Percherons to Arabians. Some are registered and have track or show experience. Please, if you are ready for this, step up and save a life!

Well, my choice is always a mare/foal pair, because I find that to be the most shocking thing around! I had no idea that the creeps would buy and kill babies!

I think you should include multiple photos if possible. Photos that tug at heartstrings can work in certain situations, but we want people to know there are many, many options from youngsters, to registered horses to been there done that to pasture pals. A picture is worth a thousand words but we don't want to scare people away. People need to know they can pretty much find whatever they are looking for. It should also have tear-off pieces at the bottom so interested parties can grab the website info. Also, if you can shorten the flyer to include bullet points, that would be helpful. Flyers are advertisements, you have to catch the readers attention and give them the facts quickly enough to keep them interested. I also think it should include a link to this site as well so people can understand they will have support and can do research before they make a decision. I want to be helpful, not critical; so please take my comments with a grain of sale or a shot of tequila, whichever you prefer.

Hey, Jess- work on another flyer that promotes our Rescues Only BB and all the rescues that we represent so far...working towards contributors and volunteers networking with the rescues, locating horses in need, finding a safe haven for the horses to recoup and rehab...
a close knit community of people with the same ethics and goals....
(I am on my World Domination kick again....bwahhahahaha)

Let's try to get some pictures of horse currently in foster homes. That way we aren't using any "false advertising".

I would check with a few of the rescues and create a flier that pprovides a choice of location, programs, and so on. But I would verify with each rescue that you have permission to post any "copy" about their rescue without them being able to OK the copy.
