OK, I spoke to Angi and she thinks 8 horses for the clinic portion would be best since it's just her, (no Chris).
We are picturing the stadium as having rodeo/roping facilities? So the play day could be in the big arena and the clinic portion in a stock pen or something?

Yes please tell me and I'll send $100 for the deposit. Also do we know how much is the insurance? Do we know yet?

The stadium has a huge arena...there are stockpens, but they belong to the rodeo itself, not parks and rec, and they're expensive to rent. There is a small arena (larger than a round pen......I can call for measurements) that would be perfect for a clinic, imo. There is also a larger upper arena that might be accessessible from the stadium, I'll check. That's usually the one we warm up in for Gymkhana......
I didn't get the insurance quote back by the time I left today - had to do a Guide Dog presentation at my son's school. Usually for a wedding it's about $100. No idea about something for livestock....

What? Don't you think a mare in labor would be a great show and tell for the class?

LOL we went to a Goateo years ago and one had twins right before lunch. The judges stopped the 4H showmanship portion so all the kids could watch. The afternoon session was fun stuff, an obstacle course, relay races, and one where they put 1 shoe in a pile and had to get it on and cross the line without losing their goat.

Her overly excited human would be even more entertaining for show and tell!

Angi will probably go with what folks need. If someones having trouble with something she'll use that horse for a demo. At ground clinics I have ended up Working on nothing but catching and haltering Cordie. At another we trimming Dyna's feet. At a sadle clinic we worked on holding Symphonys feet. The second day they usually work on trailer loading and some obstacles. So we just need to know if the "play" portion is a go and how many want a clinic. If it's just a clinic we might be able to do it at Caryns board facility IF we buy the insurance.

So do we hve an insuranse quote yet? Then we need a head count if we are going ahead with this. Who wants clinc and who wants a playday?

Can it be a combined day? I would love a clinic because I have so much to learn. It seems, however, that the thread started out as a playday idea so maybe we can find a way to combine. 1 day play then 1 day clinic or the other way around? Or even 1/2 of a day devoted to each. Just ideas.
