Some of you may recall that I was searching for a rescue in California for my roommate. Well, we did a little rescuing of our own! A lady we had been in contact with (helping us find a rescue horse) in gilroy told us that all her horses were filling the stalls, and that the rain was so bad, the pens outside were about 8" deep with mud! She was selling a few of her horses to keep them from having any health issues because of this, so she contacted us about a horse she was loaning to a stable for a pony club. Apparently, they didn't have any more room inside for their pasture horses because they were having the same problem, so her horse had to come home. Of course, her precious horse needed a safe place as soon as possible - so she called us. This horse has TONS of training, and is a show horse with amazing movement. Plus, she's GORGEOUS! (Note: my roommate wanted to rescue in some way, but she's a beginner. Hence, the training was a GREAT thing.) We bought her the same day we went to see her. You can't help but fall in love with an animal like her. Needless to say - everyone is happy. Our new horse is LOVING her new pasture, and her pasture mates as well. Of course, my roommate couldn't be happier. Things have a way of working themselves out, no? Here are some pictures of the new girl, Tahoe.

Wow!!! She's beautiful! I'm so glad that it worked out......Mace is a wonderful horse but definitely needed someone with confidence and he's found a great home as well......it was meant to be!

Does anyone have any guess as to what breed she might be? I was thinking thoroughbred/quarter cross, or arab/quarter cross. Dez thought she might have some mustang in her from the look of her ears. Any guesses? She has a pursed upper lip, if you can't tell in the pictures.

How tall is this girl? Could have some Hanoverian. Reminds me of Finn, a TB/Hanovarian X that used to board at the same place we kept Pal. Same head, stance, and coloring. But he was huge, 17 hands and growing.

She's got a non-QH face to me. it's like she's QH in the back, but something else in the front. She's a little dishy. She's lovely.

What a pretty girl, in such a pretty pasture! My Aunt used to board her gelding in Gilroy. We would go over for the day to have lunch and I'd go around visiting all the horses at her boarding stable. Gilroy's countryside is pretty, but it smells too much like garlic! ;D
Tahoe looks like she has a pretty refined face in the pictures and she looks a little like a Morgan or Arab cross to me. But her characteristics will show up more in the summertime, then you should make a guess, lol. Good luck with her!

Yea, April, that was my guess. She's thin, and refined (like an arab), but her gaits are super smooth very unlike an arab. Plus, she's a little more stout and strong like a quarter horse. I'm not sure what she is.. but I was thinking Morgan/quarter cross maybe? She had to have gotten VERY lucky on the gaits if she's 1/2 arab. Thoroughbred maybe, she's a little too sturdy for a thoroughbred...

Proportionally, very similar heads, LEFT is a registered TB (17.1h), RIGHT is Tahoe (14.3h). Camera angles are slightly different, lighting is different.

I don't know, my Arab is a pretty smooth girl, verrryyyy comfortable. It's anybody's guess now! Maybe she's just a Heinz 57 ;D.

OMG!! Your pictures make me homesick!!! The horse is beautiful too. Born and raised in Gilroy so the backdrop makes me wanna go home!
PS: I love the smell of garlic!
