today. I drove by them a week ago. I saw from the road a couple of very skinny horses and a baby next to it's thin mom a baby mule and some others. Outside was a bunch of men so I didn't go inquire. Today my husband went with me to check out the situation. First there were less horses and all looked healthy except to the one chained to a pole in the center of the yard. That was a tall Sorrel who was walking funny, with a limp. We tried talking to the older guy there a seemingly nice man. Considering he spoke spanish and I speak english he was hard to understand. But the property they are on is for sale so they are going to have to move and they want to sell some of the horses they have. In the back is a pen with about six horses in it. Two are bay babies mabye a year old. Very cute, with them is about three adult horses.
His son came out and told me the very skinny horses up front was sold to a friend and came back very thin that is why it is the only underweight one. It also has a scab underneath it's jaw he/she is getting over being sick, but I don't know what. Near him, is a pony/horse size male intact that is a pretty reddish dun color with a stripe down it's back. He too is tied up but with a rope. The man said he wanted 800. for him, But them he asked me how much would I pay.
I cannot buy any of these horses because I bought Covey and I am overly maxed out. The pony sized horses was afraid of the old man but the man grabbed the rope and pulled him close. the horse then stood like "If I stand still and let him do whatever, then I can go" Type attitude. He picked up his feet easily and when I stroked his forehead his eyes sofented so much it melted my heart.
Sooo there is nothing for me to do as I cannot afford to buy one and they are being fed so I can't buy them food. If anybody wants to buy a horses which I believe you can get for pretty cheap you would be bringing these guys into a better situation. Not to mention this family will be out of a home soon and what is going to happen to all the horses? They are located in Patterson. Which is off the I-5 or near Turlock. There are several horses auction houses near I hope they don't end up there. PM me if you want the address.
The two bay yearlings? look like they will be nice sized horses 15 hands? mabye? plus they said they had a pony that dances. They also had a bunch of rabbits they wanted me to buy.
