OK, now that I got your attention.
The people that adopted our foster horse Hawkeye to be a friend to their mare Tinkerbelle have lost Tinkerbelle. The vet said she passed away peacefully and that it was "old age" she was very old, actual age unknown.
Hawkeye is pretty lonely and he wants a friend, Shelley and Erin want him to have a friend but do not want to adopt another horse for themselves.
This is the deal.
They would like to board a horse at their place, they have a very nice big pasture and run in shed, they will feed and clean and take care of the horses daily needs and it will cost about 65.00 a month for feed. The owner of the horse will also be responsible for farrier, vaccines, teeth floating, deworming, etc. A horse that is easy to deal with ( must have ground manners) and doesn't need to be ridden (they do not ride, they just love & groom) is what is needed.
Any ideas or anyone want more info. PM me!!

Any takers??
Shelley and Erin say they will totally take care of another horse (feedling, cleaning, loving) , but do not want to "own" it as they only need a friend for Hawkeye and when he gets old and it is his time, then they are not going to own any other horses. So basically it is a good "retirement board" place for a horse.
Can we think of any horses that just need a nice place to retire that need very cheap boarding?

Oh yes! Perfect Can we all chip in a little each month for his expenses? I'm sure we could do this! Perhaps we could convince someone with a truck/trailer to bring him back up from Sacramento on the return leg of a rescue delivery? I know there are several upcoming loads coming down to Northern California, and maybe one of those would work for him. It still may be best for Blazin' to try to rehome him, but I know it would be easier for the group to come up with $65 per month than $150 per month, and that would open up a spot at Blazin's for her to maybe actually make some money!

Okay, I'm going to play devil's advocate here....... I know that Morph needs a home, but these are inexperienced horse people, and Morph is going blind, needs some special attention, etc. Just doesn't seem like a good match....................................................maybe I'm wrong, but no one would 'own' Morph so if the funds dried up, this couple would be left with a blind horse......... If *i* were them, I wouldn't accept this arrangement............. But that's just me........

WendyP/Bend, OR I might have to agree with Wendy, their pasture is not really set up for a blind horse, they have an orchard it the end of it with lots of trees. From seeing the blind horses at Jim's they seem to do better with a pasture that is more open without obsticles. Hawkeye is a little flighty sometimes and runs around in the pasture alot so I can't really see him taking care of Morph. And a blind horse may be more than their experience is, they are used to having a very easy, old mare with very good ground manners, and Hawkeye is pretty much the same. Not that Morph doesn't have good ground manners but he may be a little much for them.
