~~ Abandoned Horses (Paint & TB) ~~
We got a call this morning (Thursday, January 4th, 2007) from the Oklahoma City Humane Society about two horses that were abandoned and starved on the street in Oklahoma City. Since they are not part of a neglect case, no owner can be found and they turned them over to us. They are now part of Horse Feathers and were picked up in the afternoon. They are in pretty bad shape - very emaciated - and one has sores all over his legs. We need immediate help with vet care, feeds, supplements, and medical supplies.
Their wounds were scrubbed when they arrived, and they need to be kept up so they don't get worse. We need to get a vet out to do blood work, fecal, and dental ASAP!!"
