Tell us about the barrel race...where was it, when was it, etc...and I've been curious about Rayna jousting...does that happen around here?

The gal that used to own Rayna ( She actually owned my Ivan at one time too) is big into jousting and games. She does all the Medieval shows. They mostly put the shows on around the Seattle area.
Rayna is not your normal calm Shire. She is hot and likes to move. This mare will JUMP into a canter at full speed within 3 strides. People are surprised that these big horses can keep right up with the thoroughbreds out in the pastures!

I may have time to do it this year. I am not a current member but leaning toward it. The only thing keeping me is the time!

all I can say is AWESOME!!!!!
I think most of us have forgotten the place in history where drafts were the trusted steed of knights. And played an important role in shaping history.
Very majestic animals.
Is there some way to get the word out, that they are not just beast of burden?

I think the biggest trick is how to mount 18+ hands in a suit of armor. I've never done it but I bet it's a little tricky! ;D

My guys are use to me mounting from the top of anything they happen to be close to. I'm short and even with the stirrup leathers all the way down they are too tall for me to mount. Hood of a big F250 Ladder Fence Side of my porch Another horse Roof...ok, not really the roof

hah! you are in fine form this morning, Dean! If swissie thinks that her Arab is a speed bump for your Shires, then my minis would be bublegum on the bottom of their hooves!
OMG...and they pooh bigger than a Arab....that is hilarious...
