Oh, my. Every time you look out into the pasture, you couldn't help but have a smile on your face!
It looks like Atticus (big white horse, right?) is saying. . ."Go ahead. You do it. They'll never know." Speckles is saying. . ."What? Where? Did I miss my opportunity???!!!"
Ha! Ha! Great picture!

What? Who ... me? I didn't do it! *whisper: "Sshh! Atti, she's onto us! Look the other way! Point your ears way up, like mine! HIGHER! It makes you look interested in something else!" {Moments later} "Oh hi, Mom! How's it goin'? Did you see that pretty birdie over there? Isn't that pretty? Yeah, the pretty blue one. So pretty. And birdie. Just like a bird." *whisper: "Phew! I think we're safe, Atti. Can you believe she bought it? Those humans ... they're not so bright. Okay. Pull that full bag of grain out from behind the tree. I think she's gone."

What a beautiful spotted donkey (atticus is beautiful Too), and those wonderful ears. I wish I could talk the hubby into getting a donkey or mule. They have the most fabulous EARS.

He does have the best ears...BUT he is soooo bratty! He gets into EVERYTHING. They are so much smarter than a horse, a horse thinks "oh look at that, I would like to have it" and then waits, the donkey finds a way to get it, come hell or high water. But we love him anyway....someone has to keep us all guessing! ;D

My four year old would love to have a donkey to adore. She loves Justa, who she had a solo lead line ride on yesterday, but wants a donk too. It's funny, everytime she see's a donkey/mule, she hee haws.

He rarely moves a muscle if they are sitting on him and he loves to be right in the action where they are. Here is his typical stance when the kids are climbing all over him, he will eat but he will not move an inch, he just stands there and they climb all over him. I would never let them get on anyone else without a hardhat only him cause he will not move until they get off.

That's a great picture, I'll have to show it to Annabelle in the morning and she what see thinks. Too cute The auction had three standard donkey's, one mini donk and a pony mule. The three standards most have all come from the same place and the seller should've been hobbled. The poor things had ski's for hooves. It is going to take several trimmings to get them in order, they were starting to curl back. URRR, some people. Anyway, one of these days I'll some how sneak a donkey/mule onto the place.

Yeap, Annabelle just adored the picture of Speckles and the boys. First thing she said was "ohhh what a cutie!" "look he has spots all over" ( as she was pointing out every one she could see, starting with the one around his eye) Too funny LOL

That spot is usually his first pointed out by people, if you are ever in our area come out and visit the boys. Atticus and Speckles live at a local wildlife refuge and eductaional center in Portland, they have tours there daily. Annabelle can have her own picture w/ Speckles. Here is the link to the website: www.macawlanding.org/refuge.html

Thanks for the invite and information. We'll have to do that. We are in Tigard fairly regular so it's just a hop, skip and jump away. She'd be tickled pink. Her sister's too I am sure.
