Raley (Available) Age: 13 Height: 14'1 Sex: Mare Breed: Arabian x Adoption Fee: $335.00 Contact Placement Specialist - Shawna: tufnspendy@aol.comRaley is a young arab mare that spends most of her time down in the lot. Her feet are TERRIBLE..they need to be trimmed ASAP. She went thru a sale & was RODE THRU...I can't beleive anyone would ride this poor mare in her current condition, but some jerk did. She is an absolute doll, has been a kids horse. When she was standing, I picked up each of her feet & she didn't fight me one bit. With some TLC someone will have a loving & very nice little mare. Update 11/4/2007 FLO gave the mare some bute & put her in his arena & she is not laying down as much, but she still needs a farrier asap. Click here for more pictures, including of her feet: www.columbiabasinequinerescue.org/DEF-HorsesProfile.asp?HoID=999

Can't the FLO give her a trim? Most horsemen know how to do a basic trim.

Looking at the pictures of this mare make me want to grab someone by the neck and shake them until they are senseless. Oh wait.......they must already be senseless. There is NO excuse for the way she looks. Some people are just (______)"s. You can fill in the blank.

I think a vet check on this mare would be wise for potential adopters. The way she is standing up under herself tells me there may be more going on with her than her feet.

Her condition is so sad. I hope that someone will adopt her and take care of her.

How much for a good farrier trim? I agree that she's certainly not standing right. I doubt she would survive a trip to Mexico. If not adopted, could we please fund a euthansia fund for her?

Her whole back end looks swollen. Is she pooping?? She looks like she is "plugged up". Poor thing.

she looks strange because she had literally just stood up in that picture. I may of even snapped the picture right before she pooped..I was so shocked by the condition of her feet that I didn't make pooping notes. She honestly doesn't appear to have anything more wrong with her than her feet. I'm assessing more horses this afternoon, so I'll look at her again.

Someone on the ABR site has offered to pay to have a farrier come out - also has offered to pay for euthasia if that becomes necessary. No cost to FLO or to CBER. Shawna, are you here? Please check ABR thread #16597.

Thank goodness there has been someone who stepped up to take care of this mare. Several someones it seems. I thought about her all day while I was at work, even asking my husband about helping to pay if she needed to be put to sleep. I sure hope she is able to get some relief with trimming and pain relievers for awhile. If not she needs to have eternal peace and release from her pain. Thank you for everyone who has helped her. I have a soft spot in my heart for the Arabian horse.

The way her feet are shaped I would get xray's to see if she has more of an issue. The angle is concerning.
