ASKHIM (Sander) - 15.1h - Appaloosa Gelding
Post by foxie on May 2, 2006, 8:50pm
SANDER - This appaloosa was a show type stallion before, then he fell on hard times and his feet are terribly long and grown out. He has now been gelded and will be shipped, but could be adopted too, he has a horrible healing hole on his side from running into something at the lot. He is fairly quiet and we do not think he has ever been ridden, he is about 15.1 hands tall He has lost weight and muscle mass being gelded and then getting wound in his side. He is not that old, but we do not have exact age. He came in with the Appy fillies earlier in the year and could have been their sire. For Adoption Only.
$625

Yet another wild, unmanageable feedlot horse here.
The wild, crazy feedlot stallion encounters the small boy...
And is just absolutely fine with that...
Even around his tail!
Chatty and Ashkim
Wound healing up nicely!
Ashkim working hard on fattening himself up.

Askhim's (Sander) wound doesn't show very good..it's about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long..been taking two people to do med's but tonight I walk in did it, no problem..mid-night and I'm out in the rain trying to get him to go into the barn, no way..he knows what he wants and the barn is not it...all he wanted is to be loved..like normal in my nightgown out in the pooring down rain and he wants his butt scratched...that my boy..told him to get in (he can if he wants) when he wants and he walk to the other end, made his good night sound..
the little horseman is Brandon..all the horses love him, and he knows what each one wants...Askhim is at the stage to bring Brandon in...the only thing we watch is dogs, he doesn't like them..he'll go the other way no matter how big or small they are...Nemo (Min Schnauzer-3 months) in training to find a new home, don't know if Askhim think he is a rat (Nemo is about 5lb.s) or what, but they watch each other very close..he's gentle and loving everything you want in a horse..god watches over him...chatty

haha! I knew this guy was a keeper! When I met him at the feedlot the first time, it was right before the truck was coming and I had nowhere to put him. I even emailed Ryan later and asked about him and whether he went on the truck or not, because I was going to try to make room for him if it would keep him from shipping. I'm so glad he found a good home, and it looks like he is a real sweetie. Good job, Chatty!

have to have the vet. look at a crusty on his back, may be a wort..something we all been watching..no problem just a little set back ( can't get on his back)..BUT ALL IS WELL IN ASKHIM'S WORLD...chatty

We have discovered that Askhim can't be next to any mare at this time..You can walk him past them, have them in the pasture as long as they can't tease him...He gos ballistic..
Now we know the breeding practice they use with him...Remove him up to 10ft away and he gos back to the mellow man...
Not mean toward handlers but trys to take out any barrier between him and mare...
Otherwise hes doing great..gaining weight and has just scars left from his wound now, with hair discalloring..
More later Chatty and Askhim
