 4 year old, 14.3h, registered Paint mare. This very sweet mare is not sound but is suffering from an abscess (please see photos ). She is very sweet and came right up for attention. She picked up her front and back feet willingly and was responsive in the halter. We did not ride her because she is not sound right now. She looks very sweet, and very sad. I'll pledge $50 for her, which could go towards a vet check if any one is interested in her. \
Modified to add: if anyone is setting up a Pain Registry, I'm going to petition to have my 3 cats registered. I woke up in the middle of the night last night with one on my head, one on my legs, and one weighting down my arm. I felt like I was in the middle of a wrestling match, and losing!

LOL...grateful, I can picture the cat takeover and do feel your pain. I have one, but he is BIG and quite comfortable lounging on me while I sleep. I never know what I'm going to wake up to  Tiffany is obviously beautiful and young with her life ahead of her. Poor thing has an abcess which would make any of us unsound. I'll chip in for a vet check or bail, if needed too. I have $50, just let me know when to send it. |

Don't know much about abcesses...I'm sure if left untreated it could eventually keep her lame, I'm sure. But, if treated in time, any guesses on prognosis? She's a cutie pie....needs a home!

If the abscess is in the hoof it will open up and drain on its own, and then she'll be fine.

As for the sleep deprivation and the registered pains, I nominate my dogs, all three of them. The largest one likes to do his version of spooning with me! The result is that with the other two also on the bed, I end up with about 6 inches of space to fit my body into. Oh well, I would not want to be without them!
Gratefulknits, Betrys and I used the beautiful carrot stick yesterday for the first time. She was very interested in it and was a good girl!
