Anything to report on Leo?

Leo is doing great. He had a full exam with lameness exam a couple weeks ago. The vet feels that he needs a few months off work and Pete Ramey trims every four weeks during that time. She believes there is an 80% likelihood of his full recovery.

This week he had dental work, sheath cleaning, chiropractic and accupuncture. Everyone who meets him comments on what a wonderful guy he is. Also, the vet mouthed him at eleven, not 15 years old. She rode him briefly in our sand filled round pen-bareback with a halter and lead rope. He was a perfect gentleman.

There are several inquiries on adopting him although I have not posted him anywhere. When the time comes we will look for the best fit for Leo and his new person.

Geri How is this boy doing..Spyder is very interested and I would gladly take him if he needs a home...Spyder and I are both appy people..With the love for the breed...Spyder can give this horse a wonderful home, I know this...Please look at her for the placement and this horse would be happy for ever....chatty

I just noticed this thread this morning...Our neighbors, who also love Appaloosas, met Leo yesterday and spoke with our vet while she was here to re-check him. He is moving to their farm on Sunday to rest and recuperate. I know these folks well as they have been clients for several years. They take wonderful care of their horses.

Please know that he is going to a home where he will receive great care and lots of attention. Leo is really into contact with people. His future soundness is uncertain-time will tell. I hope that you understand that I like to place horses close enough that I can keep tabs on them. I am sure that you guys would have been very good to him.

Totally understand the wanting to check on them, I rescue Malamutes, so i understand about the rehoming thing. I am just very happy this boy has a great new place to call home!
