THREE IN ONE- 7 - 8 year old, 16.1h, pregnant, bay TB mare and filly. The filly is a TB Percheron cross and so is the foal the mare is carrying. The owner does not want to deal with separate sales so they must go together. The mare is sweet, but quite thin. She needs to have the filly weaned and fed lots of groceries. She is not too far from foaling as she looks quite big. She has an old wire cut that seems to only have proud flesh on it, otherwise with some weight this is quite a nice mare. These horses need to be placed as soon as possible as the owner will sell him to a kill buyer other than the Feedlot Owner. The owner has been nice enough to give us a shot at helping him place his horses so please treat this man with respect. He will also donate a percentage to CBER if we can get them placed for him.

isn't the filly a fuzzy bunny? She is so cute and cuddly. I wonder if she is handeable. Poor mom, pregnancy sure takes it out of one! I also wondered where we would pick horses up from, since they're not at the lot.

I'm wondering if it was the very pleasant woman who got in touch with me after I posted the www.draftsforsale.com ad for them. She seemed incredibly keen on helping them and she was very quick to act.

Now we just need to do what we can to get the rest adopted since fostering isn't an option currently.

These 2 (and a half!) are fantastic.

The mare we named Merry. She is the sweetest, kindest TB I have ever met. She seems so much older and wiser than she really is. She had a bout of lice when we got her, and we treated it, and she shed out all of her icky lice-infested hair and is now drop-dead gorgeous! I saw her out in the pasture today and couldn't believe it was the same horse! She looks wonderful, too. Even though her belly is starting to get bigger, she still runs around the pasture and plays with all sorts of energy. I think it is doing her a world of good.

The filly we call Squirt. One of those ironic names, because right now I would guess her age to be about 9 or 10 months, and she is taller than some of our full-grown horses! I'd ball-park her to be about 14.2 or 14.3 at the withers, and still growing like a weed. She is going to be one BIG girl!! She's still really fuzzy, and I can't wait for her to shed it all out. She is also more like a giant puppy than a horse. We can literally do anything with her, and she loves everybody... We'll have to get pitures up soon.

Pics of Merry & Squirt soon....Nope Merry has not foaled yet. Info we have (from Wayne) is that she was bred to the same Percheron stallion, so foal will be a repeat of Squirt. We will be very happy with another Squirt! She is an awesome girl....

Here is a picture of Merry. I did not get one of Squirt yet. Merry is so nice, she just follows us around wanting attention. She loves to be brushed and scratched. Every time I try to walk away she comes and stands by me wanting more. No, she has not foaled yet. She is such a nice girl.

Miss Merry is big with foal, she is sooo sweet and I cannot wait to see what the baby looks like. I am sure it will be as sweet as her. There is a pony out at Hytyme's that is so in love with her and she justs tolerates him. She got moved to have her baby by herself so she can be watched and he is just beside himself, it was so sweet, he can see her through the fence though.

What a transformation! Ah, too bad the little pony is so sad. Maybe when you take the mare and foal back home, the pony will have to come with you!

They all live there @ Hytyme's he is just upset he is on the other side of the fence from Merry. I think she likes being on the other side of the fence...no pony to pester her!! So he is just being a cry baby, he wants her back in his pasture not in the maternity ward!

Squirt is a Percheron/ Thoroughbred mix, she was born in 2006 and is growing with leaps and bounds, she should be a big gal and make a nice sport horse prospect! This girl will flourish with training and will make a great horse for any discipline. She may look like a Squirt now, but don't pass this one by!!

I have to tell you guys, I cannot say enough good things about this horse. Squirt has the best ground manners (just like her mommy Merry) and she is so kind and willing. She has beautiful coloring and is built so nice. Just a great horse. She is not even spooky, a gate fell over next to her and her lead got caught in it and she didn't even spook just waited patiently for us to untangle her. She is growing like a weed. It says alot about a horse to be out at pasture since they were a weanling and then be pulled in by strangers and act perfect. She is going to make someone a great horse! She needs to be adopted and live out her full potential!

I cannot say enough nice things about this filly, she let Mo trim her feet today with no on holding her just stood there while Mo did it. She is AMAZING and growing taller every day, she will be a BIG girl!

Don’t tell Merry that I am taking her place as Squirts mom. We are schedule to pick up Squirt June 15-16th and I am filled with excitement. I feel like it’s my birthday. I look forward to adopting another horse too. We need to move into our new home first

First off, thank you everyone for the warm welcome! And to Hytyme and Atticus: You both are the bomb (my nephew used that "slang" tonight and it fits). This is truly the most rewarding thing I have ever done.

Squirt is such a wonderful little lady She has a new friend in a old mare named Sister (one of my Aunt's horse). When I moved Squirt to a pasture across the street from Sister, Sister went nuts. Squirt was just happy for more grass. She was happy to return to Sister's company though.

She was exposed to many things today in her new home: lawn mowers, garbage cans, cars, crackling firepit next door, weed eater, etc. She did wonderful. The third time crossing the street, it didn't even phase her. Wow, this girl has such trust for human's.

I am so tired as I couldn't sleep Saturday night due to arrival excitement and Sunday night... well, I was worried that Squirt was lonely without all the other horse. She did adapt quickly; however, she doesn't want to be in separate pasture from Sister any longer. They have bonded across the fence. I will allow them to spend time together tomorrow for a play date. I sound like an overprotective mother don't I? Well, she is my new bundle of joy

I will post picture's of her coming out of the trailer as soon as I figure out how to get them off my husband's camera. The first thing is to have Scott find the camera

We agree...she needs a NEW name! Never really liked it, but when she was a baby someone just started calling her Squirt and it stuck. Somethng elegant, serene or fancy would be more right for her....

Well, this has proved to be a challenge for us! I actually turned to others at a graduation party and at work. May not have been the best idea. One person at work choose Elvira... not going to use that one for her. Here are a couple of names that did make the list for now:

Bella (or Isabella)
Avalon
Serene
Ireland
Sahara
and even Prada (after hearing a story yesterday, that one is out!)

I keep changing my mind. She is such a sweet and beautiful girl. She is truly elegant. Anyone have any ideas on a name or like any of the above?

I went to tell her that her new name is Serene and she snuggled with me. I think she likes it As I was picking up rocks tonight in the field, she toppled me over trying to get my attention

My family came up to meet her and they now call her my toddler. She has to be in your face no matter what you are doing and always seems to ask "why". My 4 year old niece adores her. Her father is the FFA teacher so she has been exposed to animals since she was a baby. She has no fear. She loved it when Serene followed her around. Serene was a perfect lady and stood still the whole time she was petting her. Such a gentle one.

She brings so much happiness to us!!! Scott adores her and even helps clean the pasture with me. Jim, he loves to get great idea's from you (you have a captive audience. My sister-in-law loved all the horses stories and wants to come back too!).

Let us know when you have one of your work parties. If we are down that way (or, we may just come down anyway) we would all love to come help!

Thank you for adding the previous threads! I will always be gushing over her! I am still a little overprotective and will be spending the evening with her until the fireworks stop. I don't know why I worry as she is so well adjusted. My entire family is meeting her today at the BBQ. I am sure she will love being the center of attention!
