Hi Guys, Sorry to have been MIA for so long, I have been coping with alot of family issues and it has taken some time and effort. Money is very tight and I have decided that Finn is too much horse for me, he needs a person that can work with him daily and I am working full-time so that is not happening. So I am lowering his price and hoping to find a buyer for him that can use him to his potential....which is BIG!! I hate to find him a home (it is a very hard decision, one not taken lightly) but I know what is best for him and he longs for his own person. If anyone has any ideas or knows of someone please send them my way. I appreciate it!! Ashley. hytymeashley@gmail.comHe is priced at $1500.00 but I would take a reasonable offer from rescue people that I know. Here is his info: Finn Breed: Draft Height: Approx 17 hh Sex: Gelding Age: 9 9 year old Belgian Gelding, he is approx. 17hh and was rescued last year as a stallion, he is gelded now. He is in need of an experienced adopter who is savvy with green horses and horses with alot of power. He is gentle but will take advantage if his person lets him. Finn has tons of potential in the show and dressage ring. He is willing and able and learns quickly, he just needs more miles and he will be GREAT!! He is Super Flashy. You will never find another Belgian like him! This horse is nothing short of amazing. He has had a great start with 2 very great trainers and is now ready to move into his new life. He is a horse that wants and NEEDS a job! He must be housed alone or with another big horse, as he sometimes acts studdy. He is living with a 18hh Percheron Mare and is doing great. He should be kept out of the mud. He ties, stands for farrier, trailers like a dream, jumps right in and is current on vaccines, dental and deworming. Potential adopter must pass a reference check and site check. Adoption fee: $1500.00 or best offer.

I'm sorry things are tough right now Ashley. If we found a (very trusted that we knew personally) foster home for awhile, would that help?

Well update, Mr. Finn is coming back to us, he needs more training that Sarah can give him now as she is caring for her 26 year old Belgian that has cancer and she doesn't have a round pen. So if we know of anyone that needs a BIG (literally) project let me know!!

Has Finn ever been ridden? He is flashy to be sure. Dean rode him when she had him in training a couple times and he did well, he is just super green needs more work. But he is willing and learns fast. He is about the flashiest horse ever! My deal is that I know Finn has TONS of potential and I want to find him the home where he can live that out. I would even consider a gift contract if I found the person who had the experience to train him and wanted to give him his dream job. I am not concerned about $$ for him, just that he gets to his potential. Unfortunantly with my lack experience for the big boy and lack of time that is not going to happen with me. So I am in search of Finn's new best friend!

FINN is an awesome horse. He just needs some miles. He is strong and does require a firm hand right off the bat to establish boundaries. He was a stallion for many years and unfortunately his previous owners allowed him to act like one. He is smart and learns quickly. He is really a great horse. If someone local adopts him I will volunteer my time to come out to your place and work with him further!

I will try to hurry up on the lottery winning - I have everything planned out, but those darn people that draw the numbers don't get the memo till AFTER the drawing lol.

It is true Mr. Finn is a truely GREAT horse, he does have food agression issues that we have to keep in check, but that is result of him being starved before we got him and if he doesn't have a "job" he makes his "job" to guard food, but a couple good "Knock that offs" and hand feeding he corrects quickly. He doesn't mind sharing with the other horses, he just thinks people are going to steal his food. He is back out at Jim's and living in the big pasture with everyone and having a grand time.
I wish the big boy was for me, but after many attempts I cannot gain my confidence around him as he is just plain too big for me. I found out I love to look at and even pet BIG drafts but will not get on one as I do not like being that far from the ground, too much power for me...plus Oslo & Atticus are short!!
Sara buy your lottery tickets, i think you will be lucky this week!! LOL

Well kids, Mr. Finn has been placed!!! He is living in Sandy Oregon on a Christmas Tree Farm, it was a perfect match and they love him to pieces!! He is going to learn to drive so he can move Christmas trees for people when they pick them out and they are going to train him to ride. He is doing great and the whole family is very excited about him.

UPDATE: Mr. Finn is settling in well at his new home, he loves all the attention and likes the 2 geldings that live there as well, they are still meeting over the fence. He comes when his new mom whistles, she says he runs to her and the ground shakes! That is Finn for ya. They love him and he loves living at the Xmas tree farm!
