Belle (just a cute pony)

Belle is the sweetest pony around and we love her to pieces. I've posted these pics elsewhere, but thought I should start a thread for our new family member. She is not a rescue, but did need a home and she found her forever one...

"Mmm..aaahhhh...mmmmmm....I need help!" Isn't this why we got a short horse?

"What in the H E double hockey sticks is that?!"

"Praise God, I'm still alive, but sadly have to work."

They had a great time. Belle has her little issues of trying to take advantage so I think I'll stay with them for a bit, but I love that she is so good on the ground. She's pretty good under saddle too, but best when I'm leading or right there. I think she's a perfect pony for our family. Hope you enjoyed our pictures!

Wonderful! I laughed out loud at the "going to my happy place" picture! Thanks for sharing them. Your daughter has the life I wish I'd had as a little girl; it's so wonderful to see a little girl and her pony, and the love between them.

Faith and I went (with Tonisha "hystyle" and Wendy "wendyP" to our riding club's Grand opening of their new facility. It was very fun and Faith participated with Belle in costume. They aren't confident enough yet to go solo in the gaming events, but had a great time in general. Belle was a unicorn/Pegasus combo. Faith wore a fun hat attached to her helmet. We had so much fun putting ribbons in her hair!

Many thanks to Wendy for picking up Belle (my trailer is still in the shop!!) and Tonisha for helping to decorate and then leading my kid and Belle in the costume class so I could take pictures. They are so good to me!!!







Belle really likes to be around other horses and kind of freaks when she has to go off by herself. So, that's just what we did. I led her, with Faith aboard to the outdoor arena and made her stand quietly. When she was calm (no pawing or whinneying) I let her walk forward. She tried all the normal tricks for getting Faith off. She tried to lay down. She gave a little crowhop, pawed, backed up, etc. Faith was calm and happy to be on her so didn't care. I did grab Faith off when she laid down (we were both very surprised!) but she went right back on.

I'll work on ground-driving Belle later this week to get some adult-time working with her. She is the sweetest thing, but just a bit sour about having to work. Luckily, after riding the big horses, Faith is NOT intimidated. ;D
