Just wanted to give everyone an update on Kidnaps Katydid! I picked her up from Sam's today and she is the cutest mare! Her pictures didn't do her justice! Much cuter in person. She looks fabulous, very well fed and quite happy. She is however, big as a house! From her breeders certificate it looks like she shouldn't be foaling until the 14th of April but we shall see! I have her in the foaling stall with her door to her run open so she can look around tonight. I am hoping that she and my other broodmare will make friends so they can be turned out in pasture together in the next few days. They are in stalls and runs next to each other and so far so good. She really is a darling mare and I am so thankful to gratefulknits for gifting her to me. She has a forever home here with myself and my family. We look forward to meeting her foal and enjoying them both for years to come! Thanks again for everyone who made saving her possible. What a shame it would have been to lose her. You guys are great! I will of course post pictures of the new arrival when it comes!!

Congratulations!!!! She sounds lovely and I'm so happy she is home with her new family. April is just around the corner, so I'll be checking back often to hear about her impending bundle of joy. Soooo exciting. Thank you for taking her in and giving her the wonderful home she deserves. Do you have a barn name for her yet?

Thats great news that she is home, good for her. Im sure she will settle right in with the other girls just fine , if she has a few days to meet them over the stall. You know i here it a colt year, so ya never know.

I think her barn name will be Katie. When she was up for adoption and everyone was rallying to save her, my family got used to me talking about "Katie" so they all are calling her that. It seems to fit. She has the sweetest face and everyone loves her already. She is quite the treat lover so the kids think that is great. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this possible! I really thought Katie was an isolated case and that people couldn't honestly "can" bred mares but to my dismay (as you have probably already noticed) there is another one on CBER's site! Poor Ellie. I am just praying someone adopts her. This truly sickens me to see any horses in this position but especially the pregnant ones. So, spread the word to everyone you know that these horses need help NOW!!!

Katy got her feet done today !( I don't think she's had them done in a VERY long time) She was pretty good about it and they look so much better. I also boosted all her vaccinations today so we are officially baby ready! Have all the straw in the barn ready to move into her stall! Shouldn't be for about two to three more weeks but who knows! Will try to figure out how to post pictures on here when we have a new addition.
